In the early 90's I bought a Belgian made in 63 with the hanging tag still on it in the Hartman made Browning luggage case..for $400. Sold it in the early 2000's for $750 which was the going rate.
I still have a mint Remington 12C in 22 WRF...with a Lyman tang sight made circa 1920. I paid $145 for that in the early 80's. https://www.gunbroker.com/item/891783681 |

Latest acquisition
Picked up an all black Canik TP9SFx pistol new in the box with all the goodies. This is the long slide version with the 5.2" bbl, two 18 rd mags, mag loading tool, adjustable sights and a very nice trigger. I haven't gotten it to the range yet, but will remedy that in a day or two. Made in Turkey, by the way! Pictures:
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1616090254.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1616090282.jpg It is possible that this one will replace my Glock G34 for future steel plate matches! A couple hundred rounds thru it should show up any mechanical "issues" it might have. More later. |
I have this on the way.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1616104991.jpg
And these arrived yesterday. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1616105024.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1616105024.jpg |
A "friend" gave me a "free" (like a puppy) reloading press and the promise of 1k worth of powder (about 4lbs) and primers.
Half of the other stuff I need has arrived ($240) and the rest (another $150) is on the way, and even then I'll need to spend another $50-100 on bullets. Should end up loading quality sub-MOA capable 223 for ~45c/round and blasting ammo for the AR at around 25c/rnd http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1616106310.JPG |

I took the Canik to the range this morning and put about 100 rds thru it. The ammo I was using is a fairly light "plinking" round and a few empties did the smokestack thing. Turned out to be pretty accurate with the point of aim being about 2 inches left and 2 inches high of center. Will fix that later. The only thing I will need to change before the next outing will be to eliminate a sharp corner on the mag release button. It tends to dig into the supporting hand on recoil. Overall, this gun has a nice feel to it and is easy to get on target. Think it's a keeper.

A friend dissected a purchased handload that works VERY well in my .223 so if I can get off my lazy ass and copy them I'll see if the whole exercise has been a good idea. |
DO either color holsters clash with my camo shorts and flip flops?

Well, I saw the video of some good old boy shooting it. Doesn't look like you can pop off both at the same time.
BUT HEY! You can load it with rocks, dimes, 10mm sockets, what ever fits down the throat. |

You don’t see these too often. This is my SIG P75. This was the beginning of SIG Sauer. It’s a 9mm 220. This was a Swiss military issue. It has the Swiss Cross on the slide and had the original officer’s name and number taped on a piece of paper inside the original grips. It is an absolute laser and my favourite pistol to shoot. This has the heel release mag and holds 9 rounds. |

Saw one of these at the LGS. Loved the idea of a smooth weapon not catching on clothing or holster but I didn't like the setup when drawing and aiming.

Remington in bankruptcy, sells out to the Navaho Nation.....

JB leapt and we found the right FFL's to get this done in a cost friendly manner. Anyone have a 9mm for sale, I am interested. |
Cabela's has that Smith Shield in the display case. With three in the backroom. They will ship to a store near you and with your FFL, you can walk out the door after payment.
If the Acworth store is out of stock, they are nationwide.....that is you want new. They got Bubkiss on used. They are NOT jacking up the price like the indy gun stores. $569 all in. |
