Just purchased Kahr PM9 for ccw. After considering others, including Ruger LC9 and Sig 290 choose this weapon. Love it; fits well in my big hands, and fits nicely in back pocket. Surprised with its accuracy given short barrel. Mulitple hits on soda can at 35 paces with first clip fired.

I have a major love/hate relationship with Kahr.

They make the BEST out-of-the-box double-action trigger. Bar none. They're keeping Auto Ordnance alive, as well as Magnum Research. Their manufacturing is in the USA. And they have hot girls in their magazine ads. :D

However, they're privately owned by the Unification Church and run by one of the Moon kids. Yes, that Moon family--those total whackjobs that make Kim Jong Il look nearly sane and normal.

Takes all kinds, I guess.

Looks like a .500 Nitro Express round and a British double rifle. The .500's have a long straight case like that, where the .470 is about the same length but a little bit bottle necked. The .577 and .600 are not quite as long. And yes, the rifle is rifled. Still not a "long range" arm, but the ones I've been lucky enough to play with will shoot minute of coffee can at 100 yards. Most are regulated at about 75 yards.

Bond. James Bond, will be shooting a double rifle designed to stop a charging elephant in the latest Bond outing Skyfall.

Remmert van Braam of Bond Lifestyle is reporting that Daniel Craig’s James Bond will use an Anderson Wheeler .500 Nitro Express Double Rifle in the next installment of the 50-year-old Bond film franchise.

The $24,500 .500 Nitro Box Lock Express Rifle shoots a 570 grain .50 caliber bullet at about 2,200 feet per second. The .500 was originally conceived of for shooting – and stopping – dangerous game in Africa and India.

It is unknown in what capacity Bond will use his .500 but the latest trailer does offer a glimpse of Daniel Craig holding the rifle at the hip at the 2:22 mark.
