I thought I was going to use it more often, but the older I get, the more sensitive my back gets to ruts/roots/sudden jarring movements. This the result of a motorcycle injury 23 years ago. Still a sharp looking bike (IMHO):

Campy Record large flange track hub in that condition? Most can be polished up again with chrome polish. I say 100 bucks per piece.

Rather nice. Somewhere around $200 USD. (These are freewheel road hubs.)

Campagnolo Track hubs of the same era... $4-500 USD.

How can you tell if they are track specific? Holes? I rode Miche Competition and Shimano on the track. This kid was too poor for Campy

Track hubs have an extra opposing thread for the lock ring.

Note the extra smaller thread.

Oh yeah. I didn't even see that on that set of hubs and didn't noticed the freewheel spacers.

You guys have good eyes. I briefly look at it thinking large flange=track.

LOL, the only reason I know is because I have Campy Super Record Track hubs on a few of my BMX bikes. And learned about them when I worked at a Bike Shop and switched from Bullseye hubs to Campy (Bullseye hugs stated in the paperwork that you should not use DT spokes on them)

Scott Douglas 12-11-2022 09:42 AM

Thanks guys. I appreciate the input.

I'm tempted:

Convert your old MTB to an e-snowmobile.

Oh man and I thought a stock Ducati was a torture rack.

Not sure where else to put this.

Spoiler for the HBO Watchmen series.
In episode 8, there's a flashback to when Angela Abar's parents are killed in 1986. The bike the bomber uses has V-Brakes, which weren't invented until about 10 years later. Now you might say that since this takes place in an alternate earth, maybe V-Brakes were invented earlier there, but I don't think so.
The series came out in 2019. I signed up for the black friday $1.99 for 3 months special, getting caught up on everything. The wife wanted to see House of the Dragon.

Edit: I guess Pelican doesn't support Spoiler tags. Read at your own risk.

Pete, I just pull out that yellow Colnago and cleaned it up for my younger boy. He and I ride about 30-40 mile weekly. He rides the red Trek with Ultegra elect. 12 spd. He don't have the drive to chase but beats my ass up our hills at will when we are both out of shape. I had to pull the Campy BB out only to discovered its has a bit of rust in the BB shell. I had to borrow the tools from my friend, a shop owner to chase the threads. I have always used Teflon tape and grease to keep from creaking and ease of removal. I am starting to hear people putting a couple drops of lock tight there. What do you think? I have never had one come loose on me. Oh BTY, I am installing my old DA 9 spd on it:D. WE have an old man group who all think they are Eddy Merckx with old bikes and wool jerseys that meet up once a month for a 30 mile ride. I have only gone twice with my old Casati. It will fun with my kid and both our Colnagos. They will probably give me siht on my C 40 with DA ten speed.

Surprisingly light for a 29"

Scott Douglas 12-18-2022 10:54 AM

Those are fixed rear hubs, correct? (ie no free wheeling)
