Just finished my epic summer ride with 5 great friends.
Cycle Greater Yellowstone. 7 days, 520 miles and 22,000 vertical feet of climbing! Good times were had by all. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1471987289.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1471987317.jpg |

Speaking of climbing, I did the following two weeks ago. Single day event on my vinti Colnago, 37 gear inch low, down tube shifters, sported vintage attire including toe clips + cleats, leather hairnet :) Did the 150k with near 6,500 ft. el. gain. Had a blast. Did note there was a 72 year old hammerhead who did the 300k w/ 13,380 ft. el. gain. https://www.dairylanddare.com/routes-2016/ |

I've got a question- I just bought a rear mount carrier for my car. Do any of you have a rear mount carrier or experience with one in terms of the license plate being obscured? Will the police arrest me and lock me up over this? Will I get a ticket? or do you think they even care? (sorry for sideways pic.) Thanks!http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1472928261.jpg

Don't worry about it......

I would bet that most of the people with those racks have never loaded a bike on to them.... You are most likely ok! |
I have to turn off my park assist sensors with my Thule t2 mounted. Didn't realize how much I rely on those until I put the rack on.
It is the perfect rack though. |
Funny, just today was thinking about those rear racks. Clever how its possible to circumvent the law in cloaking a license plate, but on a more serious note, some cover the brake lamps.
Followed a small car today in daylight that had a mountain bike on the rear. It was not easy to see any of his brake lamps. |
Holy crap!
Yesterday I joined a new group for a ride and spent most of the day wheel sucking th back of an 82 year old This was through the mountains The 82 year old was amazing! The group almost dropped me quite a few times Speed in KMs through the hills Did I mention he was 82 and I was struggling to keep up?? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1472996189.png |
I finally got finished the annual rebuild of my all-rounder (a Rawland cSogn) and got it off my work stand. It's a tank, but I love this bike! It's been my main transportation for most of the last 7-something years. Rides like a Cadillac, may weigh as much as one, too.
