Could I get an update on your smart watches?
Hey Vash you say you have a Garmin but what model is it? It seems that there are so many models of smart watches and at a big range of prices. I would appreciate any info on smart watches keeping in mind that I need one to assess atrial fibrillation, sleep and steps. It seems Apple has limited battery life? Garmin has so many models it is hard to choose one. Could you give me your opinions? Thanks in advance.
Cheers, Guy |

What sort of phone do you have? Having a matching watch is usually a nice feature. I'm running an Apple Watch series 3. It was released in 2017. i think I bought it in 2018, and wear it every day from morning until I take a shower/bed, so probably 15 hours or so.
Apple watches are good for about a day and a half in my experience. I usually charge mine at night, so obviously, that won't monitor my sleep. I suppose if you want to monitor your sleep, you'll need to charge it sometime, so will hopefully, have one that you can get mostly charged in a short period.

Ultra 2 will do a one wire ecg. Lasts 2 days and recharges in an hour.
I do it while I shower and have that first coffee. Use mine for HR monitoring at the gym and overnight and for CGM more than the ECG. |

Location: Placerville, CA.... You know, the only place on Highway 50 between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe the you find signal lights. Above the fog most of the time and I can see the stars of the Milky Way 8 out of 10 nights. Kinda cool.....

We are running the Garmin MK3i. It functions as our dive computers pretty seamless. We can monitor each other’s air, sent rudimentary text at a good distance. The transmitters use pulse sonar. Works well with our iPhones too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have a Garmin Venu 3 and I love it. Main reason I got it was battery life, my apple watch was dead after 24 hrs. This thing lasts well over a week or week and a half before I need to charge it. I don’t use a lot of functions, mainly just keep track of miles walked.

Timely - alternate take here. Following a steep climb that got me a bit out of breath I just caved and got an iWatch 11. Because everyone says it's the best medically. 1
Battery lasts about 30 hours. It is very impressive in terms of heart and sleep monitoring, no question. Now after 10 days or so I confirmed all is well with heart and sleep (I'm just old and it was a really steep hill that got me wondering) and I'm already kinda over it... The damn thing is a constant source of vibrations from its own apps or its monitoring, and notifications relayed from the phone - and yeah I know you can turn some off but sometimes it's not all in the same spot, and some apps refuse to acknowledge the no-notification for me (Ring cameras comes to mind). I am sure there are fixes, reboots, resyncs, but I did not want another computer to troubleshoot - all in all it's a pain in the butt. If I were to do it again, for the $ I'd keep my analog watches and get a dedicated sports band of some kind that STFUs and downloads once a week. Too much tech for me. I already get pinged and buzzed enough by my phone and PC. "Oh I see you are doing a workout, want me to record?" Oh F-off... Could be you want that, or not. Know what you are getting into. I have the apple and a matching iPhone. Mine will do an ecg and works well.
I will replace it with another Apple Watch when the time comes. I charge it at night and don’t normally wear it to bed. It charges fast and is great for all sorts of things as it is an extension of my phone and is fully integrated.
