Yeah- This thing is in pretty darn good shape. Once I get the shorter cranks on it/stem, I'm going to dial in the seat. I kept it low today to see if she could even stand over it. I agree- she could use some seat height. By the time the parts get here, she should have grown enough to clear the frame while standing easy. Thanks again!

That isn't an old Mtb, (actually, most mountain bikes are outdated after 3 months)
I still have my 1st one
My 2nd oldest (along with my FS), but I don't feel the same way about spring forks..


My only Trek, any one of my favorites, and no, it didn't come on a Jetta.

Speaking of which, are those porsche forks air or spring? Those look pretty stout.
I also bought my x-wife a unified rear triangle gary fisher, but lusted after the trek-y frames. Interesting bikes.

Her position looks pretty good in both pics, like a real road rider should look. Muhahahaha. I would get her the even shorter stem like they have on the modern mtbs. My kid started riding his mtb immediately, I bought him a short stem and his ride was so much ore enjoyable. Its not so much the fit, but when they get tired that when the longish stem become a *****, dragging on the way home.

You'll be lifting that seat soon. They grow fast at that age. If she can't fully straighten her leg on the downstroke...you know what to do.

So true. I was adjusting seat post at the beginning of every spring a few years back. Sometime, I have to pull it up more then an inch.

Lol, I will never admit how many I have, some are more special than others and as you know, I'm multi dimensional on my bikes. Bicycles and Hot Wheels were my 1st love.

Here's my latest "COVID project" - A friend gave me an old Kona cyclocross frame. I stripped and repainted it, spent a few months finding parts, and built myself a "trail bike". I probably spent more than just finding a good used bike, but at least I got what I wanted with few compromises. This is the first "new" upright bike I've had in 30+ years - my "regular" bike is a recumbent.



2x9 drive train (30/46 crankset, 12/36 cassette) on 700c wheels, cantilever brakes, bar-end shifters, lifted bars - It's comfortable and is getting me riding again with some off-road adventures. I love the recumbent, but have gotten very learry of riding in traffic.

We went out to the Rosebowl today after school is over just to blow off some steam. A bit on the cold side and did some climbing around the Bowl into the residential streets. 10 miles later, he was bored

I did my first organized gravel ride yesterday. I've ridden some gravel sections with my quisi gravel bike but nothing like this where 99% of the ride was on gravel. Overall it was a great time although I'm not sure it did my lungs much good.

If you've ever carried stuff on a trike, you've discovered they easily roll over at 10mph.
This one leans. And it hauls. Double front disks. Easy in/out.
The only thing missing is recumbent comfort for longer trips and rain protection.
