Looking for coffee cups for work

So I work in a relatively new program, and we don't have coffee cups with our logo on them yet. Seems kind of silly, but I thought I'd take the initiative to go track down some cool mugs. Unfortunately, most of what I'm finding is pretty low quality.

What I'd really like is:
1 - Good quality mugs, like heavy-duty stuff. If it weighs the same as a plastic mug, but claims to be porcelain, it's no good.

2 - The ability to put a logo on one side and a group name on the other (e.g. "Logistics," or "Acquisition.") without having to buy 30 "Acquisition" mugs to get the price below $20/ea. (There's only 8 people in A-group, and only 4 of them want mugs, but only if they say "Acquisition".)

Anybody know of a place that can do this? Where have you gone to get company logo stuff in the past? Ideas?

Thanks,
Dan

Small quantities are never easy or cheap.

It's the setup to run the job that hurts on the small orders.

Setup costs the vendor the same whether you order 1 or 1,000.

Try cafepress.

I use Vistaprint. 1 mug starts at $13.99, and lower for QTY.

http://www.vistaprint.com/personalized-mugs.aspx?txi=15095&xnid=ContextualLeftNav_Mugs+(linked+item)_Promotio nal+Items_All+Products&xnav=ContextualLeftNav

The bottom line is straight on the mug

Rattle can them with a stencil that you cut out and make. Shows your creativity and cost awareness.

You can personalize them with flowers and puppies if you like.

Dan,

This mug is probably about 15 years old and has traveled around the world with me. I don't know if the company is still around, but back in the 80'sand 90's they were extremely popular around the Marine Corps community at MCAS El Toro...and as far south as Camp Pendleton. It seemed every unit around had mugs with their squadron logo them made my these guys. I have no idea if they're still around, but it might be a good place to look.

Randy -- I like that mug. I have a couple of similar ones from boats I was on, but they're all made in China, which I'd like to avoid. The Mug Shop in Santa Ana seems to be still in business, but they have no website, so getting mugs to DC is liable to be impractical.

Red-Beard -- I did the VistaPrint thing for business cards, then for one of the sample mugs. I found the quality of the mug itself to be pretty low. I was also horribly annoyed at the up-sell: "Oh, your mug is only $13.99, unless you want something printed on it, in which case it'll be $14.49. Oh, you wanted text AND graphics on that mug? Haha, sorry, that's $14.99. Plus a printing fee. And did you want the handle on that mug? No worries, only another $0.39." Then they sent me e-mails for months trying to get me to buy pens, desk mats, and the like. Silly to be annoyed, I'm sure, but I'm not a big fan of them anymore.

Krystar -- I like the picture-text mugs, that may be viable. It looks like if I want printing on both sides (e.g. the program logo on one side of the mug and the text on the other), I've got to make a 200 item minimum order? (sigh) There's only 150 of us in the office, so it'd take me a couple of years to actually move them all.

Stomach -- Cafepress is a little more expensive than VistaPrint, but they look ok. Can you vouch for the quality? Have you used them before?

Thanks,
Dan

Here's some ideas for cool coffee cups.

In all seriousness, I only buy cups that I can put three of my fat fingers in, without being cramped. I don't like to two finger the cup. Don't know if that matters to you. The collectible ones Porsche sells are nice, and made in Germany, but obviously design wise they're not what you're looking for, but they are good quality. Something to think about.

Do they make a "minibus" mug?
