With two English bikes the odds of not be able to drive it when you want to drop to about 25%.

But then you add an Italian bike and you get down to about 33%

You've redeemed yourself! Have always liked the Thruxton. Was a toss-up decision when I bought the Duc. No regrets, but man, that Thruxton is tempting!

You now have a cruiser and a mountain carver. Different tools for different jobs. I'm sure your wife will understand that!

I love the look of the Thruxtons, but the bars are a bit low for my back. The yellow ones are my fav.

I found myself on the 'New Triumph' web page and lusting for a Bonnie. I was always a Harley guy but have a real fondness for Trumpets too. Can't afford it now, though cuz I just bought Choc's truck a week or so ago..

The older Thruxtons had clip ons and were REALLY low. The new ones are a lot higher.

Yep. Very fun bike. I guess I'm just old. Modern bikes look too busy for me.

....and it's a lot slower than any trumpet! But if you take the plunge, you'll have a great transport vehicle for those times when the Prince of Darkness rears his ugly head!

Freind had one when the first came out. He participated in some dealership sponsored track days. They were'nt the fastest things in the world. But stil very fun.
There was talk of a thruxton only racing series. Don't know what ever came of it.

It is a looker, isn't it? I'm a Triumph guy from way back. I bought a brand new 1978 Bonneville when I graduated HS, then a 1975 T160 Trident, a '69 Bonneville 30 years ago when I moved to L.A., a '70 Bonneville later.

I wish I still had all of them. The retro Triumphs rubbed my eyes the wrong way at first, (maybe because every detail of the old ones is so syinged in my brain), but I've come around and I absolutely love them now.

thruxton cup

I have seen a few practising at Barber during a track day. They are very pretty, and a way to do vintage racing without having the real headaches of racing vintage bikes.

think this shows how good the basic platform is. with minor changes, swapping seats, it can be a daily commuter, weekend getaway bike, coffee shop cruiser, track day machine. and you can even get a girl on the back of one for dates.

i think there's an off road version somewhere.

and the engine isn't too intimidating to work on.
