I disagree. I enjoyed the hell out of the old Top Gear video posted, and there have been others I've enjoyed.

Lately, I've become a substitute for reading glasses and the list.
"What's the expiration date on this yogurt?"
"What else do we need?"

When she goes alone, it seems to take about 2 hours longer than if we go together. I can just imagine her wandering the aisles, trying to remember what to buy, and squinting at the labels.

I like looking for new flavors of soup. Leave me alone.

After six options, the last option is how to send the message! 🤬

Women, leave your husbands home!

My wife is a saint. All I have to do is just take her shopping. She insists that I stay in the car. Win win.

Ok, pensioners running errands during lunch hours… bank, food store, post office, gas, etc etc
Stay home during MY lunch! … yeah, I said it.

I post videos that I think would be of interest to the people on this forum. After all, it is a car forum, right? I personally do not gain anything from anyone viewing a video that I posted. "Click bait" is when you "click" on a video, thinking it is about a specific subject and turns out to be something else. [emoji848]

The proliferation of battery sizes and types.
I needed a new battery for my key fob for my wife's Golf. Opened the fob and thought: Oh, I have one of those!. Nope. What I had was CR 2032s for my guitar tuner. The fob takes a Cr2025.
The granddaughter has several toys that are battery powered. When one needed replacements, I told her to retire the toy after discovering the cost of replacement batteries exceeded the cost of the toy.

People selling wheels without stating bolt pattern and offset, or what car it came off.

Dixie 02-26-2025 08:19 AM

Today's pet peeve...
You do not need to block the LH turn lane by leaving two car lengths between you, and the car in front of you, at a stop light! If you're that unsure of spatial awareness, don't drive.

This is a rampant issue where I live. I suspect it's due to so many older drivers.

I have a manual trans. I pull up to the end of the line. All those with auto trans in front randomly pull further ahead 6 inches. Before long, the cumlative effect eventually becomes 2 car lengths. Aw c'mon, I'm not going to clutch-shift-clutch-shift on account of that.

I drive a manual too, but this isn't what happens. This is SWFL, aka God's waiting room. None of these people are driving manuals. They're driving Buick Enclaves, or other midsize SUVs. These are the same people that approach a stoplight like an inch worm. They stop way back, and then pull forward 20 feet at a time, stopping each time, until finally deciding they might be close enough.

I also suspect these same people are the ones claiming my car is too loud (it's stock). :)

Drivers who don't seem to realize their vehicle will indeed go around corners at the posted limits.

We all have those little things that just get under our skin, right? For me, it's when people leave their dirty dishes everywhere or when my headphones get tangled up. It’s the little things that can really test your patience.

GoFundMe.

While I understand there are many situations that community support is reasonable and needed, I see a huge % of GFM being people who are 1) begging, 2) chasing a dream they can't afford/didn't save for, 3) were too cheap or dumb to insure.

Being fiscally responsible and selling insurance for a living, this really gets my goat.

Rant over.

It ticks me off when they die ... and their ticks.

That's all I got ...

I had a guy that worked on my team. His son was graduating basic in Texas, and he wanted to be there. So he opened a GFM to raise money for the trip. It was written as if he was your typical, salt of the earth, hard scrabble income, kinda guy.

Thing is, the guy was actually an extremely well paid software developer. It was impossible that going was beyond his means.

911 Rod 02-28-2025 08:47 AM

Or the client that wants you to make a donation to his grown daughter's dragon boat fundraiser and his grown son's hockey fundraiser because he spent $250 at my business last year.
He can see the donations on-line and keeps asking me when I'm going to donate. (He's not asking for a $20 donation either)

LWJ 02-28-2025 09:58 AM

^^^Extortion for his $250 account? Let's see, you make 10-30%. Let's say 30% to be super generous. That is $75 before taxes. You have $40 left after tax?

Even a $20 donation would be criminal.

Don't do it.

Baz 02-28-2025 03:11 PM

My (late) Aunt Bobbie. My (late) father's sister.

Her donation policy was to donate $5 when prompted to do so by the "right" people.

No less.....no more.

$5.

(of course....this was back when $5 went MUCH further than it does today!)

SLOW pokes on a 2 lane road. Then get to the intersection....turn right onto the 4 lane road.....and immediately go into the left (passing lane). For no reason.

You KNOW they are bad drivers because they are driving too slow. What they do next (left lane road hog) just confirms it.

And don't get me started with the turn signal thing!

Ya, but we all know that is the fast lane and you will get there quicker no matter what speed you go. :D

In general....I support law enforcement.

But I'm tellin' ya......they are incapable of being of any help to correct poor drivers. Sure they can pull you over for speeding or disregarding a crossing walk. Give you a parking ticket.

But every day I see drivers on their phones. Or not paying attention. Or in complete disregard for traffic flow.

On FB just now an accident here......shocking.....

And.....this is THE 4 lane road I mentioned earlier I was on this morning......

===========

Earlier today around 1:00 PM, Central Dispatch received a report of a reckless driver in the 7300 block of Turtlemound Rd. A VSO deputy located the vehicle and attempted to initiate a traffic stop near 3rd Ave/S. Peninsula Ave. At that point, the vehicle fled and accelerated at a high rate of speed toward the South Causeway bridge.

The deputy deactivated his emergency lights and lost visual contact with the vehicle as it crossed over the bridge. Shortly later, the vehicle crashed on the west side of the bridge near Magnolia Street.

A total of at least five vehicles were involved in the crash. As a result, two individuals, including the driver who fled, were transported to the hospital as trauma alerts. All others involved did not report any injuries. The bridge will be closed for an extended period of time as NSBPD conducts the crash investigation.

I'm sure this has been said already but I don't have time to review 54 pages of peeves.

My pet peeve "would you like to round up you change for xxxxx scholarship fund"? NO! I want to round down.

My pet peeves:

1) "would you like to round up you change for xxxxx scholarship fund"? NO! I want to round down.

2) Would you like to make a donation? Yes, I'll match whatever you donate - get your wallet out and I'll match what you donate.

3) Would you like to sell your house? Yes, I'll accept a $2mil all cash offer, otherwise stop bugging me.

4) Police cars that don't use their turn signals - set an example!

I go to Lowe’s quite frequently to pick up stuff, and at the self check outs, there’s like three items I have to click off skip or no, to pay. It’s frustrating!

brp914 03-31-2025 03:52 PM

You click on something for sale on Ebay. Initially, there's some info about the item, you scroll down some only to be confronted with info about other auctions, other similar things, then misc irrelevant crap and ads, then pages later finally, details of the item you were interested in to begin with.

I dont know why but I get peeved whenever I see someone using a sawzall that isnt a milwaukee.

GH85Carrera 04-03-2025 05:25 AM

The very rural road near my house that I use to go south to get on I-35 often has no traffic at all at the three stop signs at every section line one mile apart. I was behind a guy that no only came to a stop, but waited 1s seconds to get going again. No traffic in sight as far as the eye can see, and he ios doing a 10 second count.

I understand coming to a full and complete stop, but there is no need to wait when there is no traffic at all except behind you, get moving!

Entitled F'ers that pull up and park at the gas pump never buying any fuel of any sort. Happened again just now. Some jerk and his wife (who looked like a walking loaf of bread still in the pan-- IYKYK) blocked 2 pumps with his antennae festooned, flatbed converted, Scheiße-box "bear rig" for 20 minutes. Asshat.
