Does anybody today use a 12 cylinder car...

as a daily driver? I remember an old Jag sedan v12 going by me years ago and that was music to my ears. Just curious

I know a few people that use the xjs 12 as a daily.......but they're retired and put 15 miles a day on it and are able/willing to pay the maintenance tax

Outside of that the closest I can think of is the V10 M6...... .those things purr. I have a buddy who had no trouble in 50k ish miles on his

Personally, no. But living in LA, I regularly see 12 cylinder Benzes and BMWs used as DDs.

I have an E-type Jag that I'm just putting on the road and it will share DD details with my 930 and el Camino. I'm outta the country about 8 months a year so all the cars may get 2000 miles combined /year, not really in the DD catagory, and the gas milage for the Jag sucks but I don't care and "yes" the 12 bangers do sound nice.

A friend of my husband drives or drove a BMW 850csi as a DD. Sadly, the car was totaled this past week. The owner, who is an excellent mechanic, is taking the insurance money and plans to rebuild the car.

He loves that V12 BMW!

I had a coworker with a W140 Benz S600 he drove daily. Total POS with half the dash's warning lights permanently lit and half the power options bad. But it still went down the road straight with cold a/c and sure had a nice engine. Completely whisper quiet during normal driving but if you stepped on it - excellent geddyup. He claimed to get to Vegas in it in the middle of the nigth (300 miles) in under 3h, and I believe it.

Yes, I always loved the 850. Until I saw one on the lift at Kahler's in Dublin, CA. It looked VERY complicated! Definitely looks like $$$ and time consuming to keep going. But I don't know if that's true.

I see Bentleys around here, maybe one a week. I was driving to work in the rain in my Targa and feeling bad about getting it dirty when I came up to a Bentley GT, daily driver in the rain. I didn't feel quite so bad after that. But when I got home I cleaned my car, he had someone else clean his.

+1.

One of my clients (younger 30 something Ins co owner) DD a 12cyl Aston Martin or Lamborghini... Another drives a 12cyl Jag... And yet another DD his high mileage F360...

But this is SoCal and pleasantly unusual in this regard.

I daily drove a 750iL

Fuel consumption was no worse than your typical V8 SUV or pickup and we don't bat an eyelash at those
