old Merkur 38HD "barber pole" with a gel I discovered in England called "King of Shaves", now distributed here in the states by Remington (or Burt's Bees shave cream on occasion). Used to use a nice brush shave soap but getting lazy as I get older.

In the last 20+ years, I have completely shaved only twice.
The first time was when I figured out that my wife and I were not going to make it. Figured I'd let her see me just once.
The second time was about a month ago...
... figured the same, there's an end coming, I feel.

I'll bet you've never seen what happens when the buffer wheel catches and flings a blade between your legs

Hard water is a big killer of razor blades. When the water dries it leaves calcium deposits on the blade. When I store my Mach III in a glass with 1" of glycerin in the bottom the blades last a lot longer. My helpful housekeeper keeps throwing out the glycerin and washing the glass though.

Phfffft. I used a propane torch.

Honestly I have the facial hair of a fat lady. I alternate between a fusion and some Phillips electric. I shave when I start looking like the extra in some old Kung fu movie.

Gilette Fusion every third day. I usually get 3-4 months out of each blade.Couldn't grow a beard or 'stache to save my life.

Merkur HD with feather blades. Tried a bunch and feather easily the best.

Edwin Jagger best badger brush with Mitchell's Wool Fat Soap. I was trying to find another soap, but got three pucks for Christmas, which will last over three years.

Mach III for the last 2 or 3 years...I like it compared to the disposables I was using.

Yellow and white bics bought in the bulk pack from the supermarket. Each one lasts about two weeks or something like that- I've never really noticed.

They shave close enough. I can't see the point in giving your face death with a four blade razor (gawd) when it grows back anyway.

Stopped at the CVS yesterday on the off chance they might have Williams shaving soap. They did at $1.59 a cake. A dollar cheaper than on the net. They also had King of Shaves gel. Picked up a nice boars hair brush for seven bucks. This stuff was a little dusty and way back on the lowest shelf but they did have it.

I just pull out the hairs by hand every week or so. Then I treat myself to cucumber melon or pomogranite lotion.
