As a kid in the late 50's we cranked it up with no AC in the summers and amazingly it never blew a tube. 10 or so years ago when I had it gone through and the guitar jack added the tech said it was all original either late 40's or early 50's.

As kids, my brother and I used to fool around with a MacIntosh tube amp our dad had. We'd hook it up to a Fisher tuner and an old speaker we salvaged from somewhere. It would cook during the summers and nicely warm the room during the winter.
This is the oldest radio I have in the house now. Haven't hooked it up for years, maybe it's about time I did.
