Poll: French Fries: Thin & Crispy or Thick & Tender

So my wife and I are always discussing this one even though neither of us routinely even eat fries anymore. Just an interesting observation however into what people like and/or dislike....I, myself prefer crispy fries--the thinner and crispier the better. My wife likes steak fries--big slabs of potato that while can be somewhat crispy on the outside are usually too soft for me. Your thoughts?

Yup.

I have a once a month treat: I head over to the local Checkers, which has great fries, and I order two hot dogs with onions and cheese. Splash of mustard.

I then take the piping hot fries and lay them in the bun on top of the hot dog.

Eat at will.

Great googly-moogly that is some great chow.

With thousand island dressing, please. And probably a cherry coke. Man, I'm having flashbacks to Bob's Big Boy!

Bob's, yeah, and one of those brownie vanilla ice cream hot fudge things

I have gotten more to like sweet potato fries. Cut up like smallish steak fries, a bit of oil then into the broiler, turn once or twiceThe wife actually got me onto those. Supposed to be better for you than regular potatoes, but I am sticking with regular fries on my chili cheese dog, thank you very much.

Fries must be crispy, you can keep your shoestring nonsense.

Tater tots with tartar sauce as a dip....alas, spuds contain lots of carbs & I'm diabetic now. Tey've been a favorite of mine since high school.

Fries? Yeah, the steak fries.

I prefer crispy thin cut. Variety is the spice of life and it's rare not to find good fries. One of my favorite places makes a wedge cut fries thats baked goodness. Another does sweet potatoe fries drizzled with honey and sprinkled with cinnamon.

I had Poutine at a decent restaurant in Las Vegas that the friess had been cooked in duck fat OH DEAR LAWD it was tasty!

Beth made grouper, clams, shrimp, corn and french fries yesterday for dinner and it was fantastic! I like malt vinegar on my fish and fries!

boy howdy!! we have a place called Hot Dog Johnny's. Quite a drive from home but when I'm near there I hit it both for the always crispy fries and the crisp dogs.

I think If I had my choice between several different cuts of fries and all of them were done perfectly, I would probably go with the shoestring fries.

BUT, the fries being done correctly are much more important than the cut. I've had crappy thin cut fries and awesome steak cut fries.
