Painful read.

Not sure this has been discussed already here this morning, but:

No way that's totalled. Mechatronics is a good restoration shop and can rebuild just about anything.

Yeah, but it'll have a salvage title.

Worthless at that point. Haha

I guess not even Germans are immune to knuckle-headedness and Jack-assery!

Those two would have wished that they died painfully in the crash, if it were mine.

it is painful...

is there such a thing as "salvaged" or "reconstructed" title in Germany?

No doubt if there were any car worth saving, that would be one of them.

Cheap enough someone will buy it. And a few years later will flip it at 1/2 market value and no one will care for the salvage title... I get in line for it...

How can someone "estimate" 830K in damages? I doubt there's a Mitchell page for the 300SL. who says Germany has a salvage title? My limited knowledge of the TUV is going to have that car be new or it won't ever drive the roads in the Fatherland.

Or, they could do this:

Mercedes-Benz 300 SLS

I met a guy in a van in the shopping center parking lot who does bodywork right there on the spot. I bet he could fix it. If the owner would like I could get his number.

It only gets a branded/salvage title if there's an insurance claim, right? ;-)
