The guys in black/khaki are likely cops/security and should be easily ruled out.

Well, the photos I saw of the men with and without identical full black backpacks sure look suspicious.

I doubt it. If that were the case, they could have designed them to "fizzle". They would get the same terror effect without the body count.

It sounds like they know who they're looking for now. I'm betting the perps are either dead (suicide) or back in Yemen or Saudi Arabia or Pakistan by now, so finding him/her/ them might take some time unless it ends up being a seriously stupid local "lone wolf" type who lives and actually stayed in the area.

So I just saw a video interview of the guy who was in the cowboy hat helping the man pictured in the wheelchair who had no legs left. Odd accent, I am going to guess Portuguese? Anyway, He was just an regular guy, a red cross member, didn't know the injured. This is a guy who jumps in an ties up tourniquets around two shards of what is left of another bystander's legs to keep the guy from bleeding to death in the middle of the street and then helps get the dude help. Holy freaking crap. And he acts like it wasn't a big deal, it was just what he needed to do.

Since it hasn't been reported that that man in the wheelchair died, I guess he has made it. How amazing. The guy in the cowboy hat saved that man's life for sure.

Also, how insane would it be, to be that man who lost his legs have a professional photographer take a picture of you getting wheeled away just minutes after your legs are ripped off at the knees, being pushed by some strangers who just saved your life who you don't even know, showing all the graphic detail- you have a high res picture of that. You will live the rest of your life, not just with the permanent disability to remind you of what happened, but also with a 12-megapixel image of it as it happened, in all the detail.

Holy freaking crap.

Heck of a story, and the photo of his last of 200 flags all bloodied is quite telling.

Lots of talk in TV news about releasing pictures of possible suspects, couldn't this create and environment of vigilante activity? I hate to think this way but a few people could take things into their own hands.

I'd be very cautious about this. The NY Post is a notorious tabloid paper. The photos and description are directly from the blog posted earlier in this thread--one with absolutely no credibility.

Are these the same photos the FBI has circulated to police agencies? No one knows but the implication is, they are. But that's just the Post. If they turn out to be the same photos, the original blog has provided an important piece of information. If they are the same photos, the NY Post has breached an important request by the FBI to not alert potential suspects of the information.

At this time, it may be a good idea to take the Post story and the photos with a grain of salt.

Taken from the NYPost article.

"Authorities know the names of the two men, but do not have enough evidence to make an arrest for Monday’s attack, which killed three and wounded 176, the sources said."

Seems that if they know who they are they would be issuing search warrants and going through their residences looking for evidence.

News sources say more than 30,000 social media (FaceBook and Twitter) messages sent within 1 mile radius of the bomb site were collected from before and immediately following the explosions.

Duly noted, L.J.

The question that is nagging me is why the FBI is waiting to release their photos. I've heard their reasoning but I don't buy it. Call me suspicious but the one and only hearing on the just released, massive (800+ page) and impossible to decipher immigration bill is scheduled for tomorrow.
