As much as the US is claiming this plot was not related to Boston, I'm finding the timing of this rather suspect. Any bets on the surviving bomber being the guy that spilled the beans on these terrorists in Canada?

There is more than one definition for Weapon of Mass Destruction. There is the definition for international defense of the United States, and there is a definition for criminal use within the United States.

From United States Code, Title 18 › Part I › Chapter 113B › § 2332a

(subsection)(c) Definitions.— For purposes of this section—
(2) the term “weapon of mass destruction” means—
(A) any destructive device as defined in section 921 of this title;

(section 921)(4) The term “destructive device” means—
(A) any explosive, incendiary, or poison gas—
(i) bomb,
(ii) grenade,
(iii) rocket having a propellant charge of more than four ounces,
(iv) missile having an explosive or incendiary charge of more than one-quarter ounce,
(v) mine, or
(vi) device similar to any of the devices described in the preceding clauses;

This is the source for the charge against the bomber. WMD has more than one meaning though most only think of it with regard to weapons of war.

Canada actually has one of the toughest immigration systems in the world to navigate the path to citizenship. However, refugee status is another thing, sometimes it would appear you can land refuge status in Canada for the most ridiculous reasons.
I am not sure what status these two are.

Well, I wouldn't call myself crazy...but I do have a hell of a temper. In my younger days, I had a very hard time keeping it in check. My only kid that came out a ginger (a girl) displays many of the same qualities I had as a child. The 2 non-Gingers I have are much more mild-mannered.
