I agree and I did't.

Taking it a step further, these are pics of the BBQ kitchen I build for my son-in-law a couple of years ago:

Fire Magic built in fridge.
SS gas grill (don't remember the brand but is solid SS and was really heavy) with stand-alone SS gas burner installed beside it.
Fajita grill ( heavy welded steel with SS top). Adjustable fire grate height and adjustable grill height. Weighedwell over 300 lbs. SIL says if he had to choose, this is the one he would keep.
Smoker: Heavy steel, double insulated, weighs over 400 lbs. The sides barely get warm when cooking and the coals last forever when it reaches cooking temp.

Fajita grill and smoker both manufactured in Houston.

Getting the fajita cooker and smoker install in the island was a real MF due to their size and weight.

911SauCY, if I could drive over there I would buy the red Weber from you. I really just want the shell to set in some kind of counter top with my smoker as a start to an outdoor kitchen project. I'll troll the local neighborhoods and pull one out of someones curbside garbage pickup someday
CraigsList it is my friend

What is a reasonable $...Any ideas?

For whoever cares, I pulled the trigger on a Black Weber Genesis e-330.

The wifer wanted a side burner but without losing the shelf space, I thought it was a great deal from Amazon...free shipping $799. Can't beat it as anywhere else is that price or higher and you need to lug the beast home/get delivery. My work car, Altima, was up for it but the monster box couldn't be jammed through the door

I'd say it's a damn good birthday prize!

The new ride

The wife is very happy! After a couple hours of simple wrenching it will be around for many years.

Budget for the Weber rotisserie if you really want to be impressed. We've done several chickens and they come out really good.

Also look for my recent thread on thermapen product as an accessory gift.

SO MUCH WANT! what's the name of the place in Houston that makes this stuff? What's the ballcock on the smoker for? The only thing missing for my wants/needs would be an outside pizza oven.

I like that.
$325 on sale IIRC.

BTW I'm running natural gas piped from the house. Propane sux.
Ditto. Best grill I have ever owned.

Available at Lowes for about 300-400 depending on size/options. Make sure you get the Charbroil Infra-Red

Nothing like a 1-Up

I would imagine that Weber is awesome knowing how sweet the wife's new Genesis 330 is.

Jim,

You can do that on the cheap. Build the counter around your BBQ of your choice and it doesn't have to be high end stuff like Alfresco.
