We not shopping carts in our neighborhood from all those "can't be removed" lots. Why don't they use the German system where you have to insert some coins into the car handle to release a chain from the cart stack. Homeless will go a long way to get those coins back.

As of 4:50 CST the shopping cart is gone. Came out of the house and it was no more.

I don't know what happened to it but I'm betting a phone call/email from the CEO's office to the manager of a store might have had something to do with it.

Yes.
We have them here at Super Store.
You can tell that there are many commited shoppers without a vehicle.
When you put in your Loonie and obtain a cart....you are reminded that someone tried to take one home.
All you can hear is the kachonk-kachonk -kachonk of the flat spot of that plastic wheel while pushing the damn cart through the store.
Always reminds me of what the Gyro Captain in the Road Warrior says to Max.
