G'day!

Beautiful car, Denis. Art work for sure. They don't make 'em like they used to!
Love the "Old Guys Rule" plate frame! Thanks for sharing.

We had a '65 vert in the shop for a week or so and I fell in love with it. The sounds it made was so cool. I've always wanted the split window '63.

My FIL has a 58 that is a 100 pt car. Dual 4 barrels on a 283 with a 4 speed. Black with the silver inset on the side and a coral red interior. That car is just lust worthy. Case in point, my wife who just doesn't get the car thing at all actually got a buzz off this car. I get it. LOVE the split window coupe.

I always wanted one...but never owned one or even knew anyone that owned one. Much like 911s, they were not "reasonably attainable" for many when they were new. Might as well have been a Rolls Royce. Most people I knew drove cars that cost around $100.

Awesome car that I'd love to have in Nassau blue with white top. Saw that when I was a teen with a beautiful blonde driving it.

Fint, I didn't mean that they were attainable for me, (I was a small child when they were new), or even for my dad at the time. But if you were a successful guy or even a single guy with some $$ in the bank, they were attainable.
I think they were as beautiful as Ferraris, and I think Ferraris are reeeeeeally beautiful.

They couldn't make the car like the shark so they painted the shark to match the car over a weekend

Friend of mine had one that was a real looker.
He sold it and now has a '75 Carrera w/3.0 in it. Says there's no comparison as the Porsche feels solid compared to the 'vette. ![]() It took them 2 years to complete the paint job on it. It was a real wreck under the paint.

Automobile mag had a special edition of the "100 coolest cars" and the 63-67 Vette was No. 1, and I completely agree. No. 2 was "any Porsche 911." I don't recall the date of the article, but I wonder if it was before the 1999 and the 996.

I had a 1964 roadster with 327/300 4sp. red black int white top. Had it several years 76-85. The car looks better than it actually drives. Big drum brakes until 1964 were not up to the available power.
My 911,s have always looked and driven GREAT.

There is a local guy who has a white one that is a rat rod, original white paint (now flat white) one head light up, one down.
He must drive it to work because I see him almost every morning driving the opposite direction into town. I passed him once in the parking lot of the supermarket... I decided to bypass the obligatory "if you ever want to sell it" comment and just blurted out "nice car!" "Thanks" Yes, very high on my list of "when I win the lotto" purchases.

![]() ![]() I rode in these when they were new and we thought they were cool, handled good and all, but when I got this one I drove it up over Ortega and my 71 Buick Skylark handled better. This was the 327/365 and the Skylark was faster too. |

That style of vette has always been my favorite. I agree with the comment about making it a driver and not a garage queen.... great cars are much more fun when they're driven.
