Thats probably cos there never was an 850cc Mini Cooper-they were 997 998 or as a Rover, 1275cc. Mini Cooper S were 970 or 1275cc. Regular Minis were 848 or 998cc.

So let me get this right. Yer calling me out for 2 cc's? OK it was an 848 ... geez. Sorry "Oh fountain of car knowledge". And to be perfectly clear...it was an Austin Mini 850.

Sounds like fun!!! Just step on the clutch and pull over. If you're worried your engine will blow or annoyed by the zing-zing-zing of the rev limiter, simply turn off the ignition. But if you chose to do that, gotta calculate how much brake and/or steering you have left to make it safely to the side of the road. Oh, if you turn your engine off, turn it back on right away to prevent the steering wheel from locking up.
Happened to me not to long ago on my 993 when I adjusted the gas pedal and it got caught /w enough friction to stick once in a while wat WOT! Wait until you have a lightweight flywheel in a 993/964. The engine cuts out at the most in appropriate time like coming up on a red light, in the middle of the highway in rush hour, or in the middle of a turn. But you just pop the clutch and continue on. ![]() See the sufferring the newer air cooled driver go through? |

SC? Jammed throttle? This is why you remove the cruise control unit and leave it out.
