But in a good way! To go a completely different route...I enabled a PTPP server on the router, setup a user and a password. Then used the standard INTERNAL VPN system Worked. Took about 2 minutes....

If it works for you that's fine but PPTP is not nearly as safe as an IPSEC tunnel. One other thing I saw was your SA Lifetime has to match, the client is trying at 86400 seconds (if I recall) and the Host is set much lower.

L2TP is not as secure as IPSec. IPSec is best. How about SSL. It looks like your gateway supports it, but then it depends upon what you need/want access to.
