I saw a 75+ year old man driving one very aggressively yesterday morning. Thing has a wicked exhaust note/gurgle and seemed to pull pretty hard.

It left me thinking "i've gotta drive one."

Seems more than 25% shorter...but I like it.
More noticeable snugness (tight) in the travel, however.
A good upgrade, I'd say.
Next, a bigger anti-sway bar.
.
A fun car, to say the least... ~34 mpg average w/o AC.
Zero problems - I let the turbine cool a bit prior to shut-down.

The Abarth has serious competition in the form of the new fiesta ST. Anybody driven both of them?

I drove the Abarth for a short drive. My folks bought an ST. The ST is a little bigger, but has gobs more power and is nicer inside for about the same money.

I took the ST to auto cross and held a very well driven 996 C4S to a one second lead on me. I think I could close that gap with seat time!

Dealership in Cary NC has about 40 on the lot since September.

They are knocking $4,500 off sticker on this one

New 2013 FIAT 500 Abarth For Sale in Cary NC near Raleigh | 3C3CFFFH6DT613622

$20,450

Meanwhile the local Ford place has one Fiesta ST in stock for $26K

I just do not like the interiors of the Focus or Fiesta.

i am so unimpressed i am thinking about selling it.
The car is fine,,but when it breaks i have to goo weeks on end with out my car !

I agree that the dash of the focus is busy, but I've been in both and the fit/finish of the focus was much nicer. Its a very nice car inside. Once you get used to the sync system, its pretty sweet too! And ya the Focus STs don't last long on lots in big towns, wonder why? Read the reviews, many people are saying its one of the best handling cars available. PERIOD. I love the abarth too, but given posts like the one below, its hard to not look at the ford especially when it drives so well, has more interior space and more POWERRRRRRR. Seriously, drive them both and see if you don't come to the same conclusion.

Yup, I've heard the same from my friend who has a 500 Sport in OKC. There is one dealership in town and they always have trouble coming up with parts for it. My folks live about 100miles from the fiat dealership so it would be a total PITA for them. However the local ford dealer will come and pick the focus up when it needs something. Mom has the OWNERS cell phone number and he swings by and leaves her something else to drive. Hard to beat that level of service. And there is a ford dealer in about every town. I want to love the abarth, but the Focus and Fiesta ST are just better cars...
