Rod, the problem with your posts is that they make too much sense. Fint seems to think this was a mano a mano street fight right out of a TJ Hooker episode, when in reality, "fighting in fear and self preservation," as you describe, seems the more accurate description. No one punches a guy in the street ONCE, especially in a bad neighborhood, let's their limp body fall back to the ground like Captain Kirk would do, and saunters away like if the fight is over. It's simply preposterous. Zimmerman was getting the beating he brought on himself. Pulling the gun and shooting TM - excessive force.

Please stop trying to validate what we both "don't know." GZ could have shoved the gun against TM and triggered the gun. I don't know. It does seem odd that a scared GZ would not have saved himself the trouble of an "up close and personal confrontation."

And to be totally objectionable, how was GZ's gun holstered in such a way that he could get to it in a "life and death situation?"

I would say that he did a pretty good job of "blowing him away". Not sure what dictionary you use, but I am pretty sure you can apply that colloquialism anytime some one is shot to death, I am not aware of a minimum distance before that phrase can be used.

Neither am I. I do believe the case would be much different if GZ had pulled the trigger across a distance of some 50 yards(46meters?).

“He was just physically soft,” Adam Pollock told the court. “He was an overweight, large man when he came to us, and very pleasant — a very nice man, but physically soft. He was predominately fat, not a lot of muscle, not a lot of strength.”

If Martin did not tower over Zimmerman...or if Zimmerman had been a big tough looking guy instead a wimpy looking little guy...do you really think Martin would have jumped him?

I have some candy in my pocket too...doesn't make me a kid or give me the right to beat anyone.

I take umbrage with your use of Zimmerman being "savagely" beaten to justify his use of lethal force. Zimmerman had a couple of superficial cuts in the back of his head and a bloody nose. Hardly "savage" injuries. No broken ribs, no black eyes, no bruising to the face, no facial scrapes or abrasions, no broken bones, no teeth knocked out, no hospitalization of any kind required. A small 3" bandage to the back of the head and he was able to sit down with the police over a cup of coffee with his legs crossed.

Once again, the bar must be low to get a beating where you live. The same is true for considering Zimmerman's behavior to have somehow "brought it on himself."

Calling something a "fight" where I come from implies both parties are participating. If the other guy is not punching back...why would you continue hitting the man after your initial blow knocked him down unless you were intending to do some serious damage? Most people would not have hestiated to shoot the attacker. Zimmerman cried out for help for a long time and took the beating. After determining he had no other recourse since Martin would not stop...pulling the gun and shooting was the only remaining alternative.

If you have watched MMA fighting on television, often the fight ends without lots of blood or broken bones...but the beatings are brutal. Zimmerman ad no obligation to continue to "take it" long enough to become more severely beaten.

What don't you people understand....this whole incident was fabricated by George Zimmerman....if that soft fat chubby ass hole just went on his way there would have been nothing here just another friggin day ........The kid regardless of what he may have been or was even going to do is pure fantasy hind sight. He was walking were he had a prefect right to walk. You or Zimmerman or even a cop had no right to harass that kid at that time and in any matter.

What if it was not? There is no evidence to indicate it was.

As mentioned previously, I'd hardly call this incident a "fight." This appeared to be self preservation and TM could've been trying to incapacitate Zimmerman. I guess this is what you don't see. Zimmerman did have a gun - TM might've been reacting to it. Not too hard to discern. Clearly Zimmerman wasn't incapacitated right up to the point of the shooting.

maybe you should watch the fights more...even the winner comes out with black eyes and swallow face. If old chubby George was getting pummeled in the face as described than the blows were not that severe.

My guess is Treyvon got the one face punch in ..George when down Treyvon jumped on ...George banged his head on the concrete in his struggle, but I don't think Treyvon was hitting Zimmerman much after that at least not hard.....George felling like a ***** getting handled by a kid pulls his gun and extracts his pussy ass justice.
