Explosion injures 3 in bakersfield today

This morning the wife and I got up at 530 am to watch the implosion of a local power plant across the way from where we live. It hasnt been used from the early 90's.
Thousands of people showed up to watch it go.

Here is a article from the local paper

The Bakersfield Californian

here is a few videos of the implosion

here is the video i took with the commentary from the wife

This is the only excitement we get in Bakersfield

Holy scheetsnacks! Didn't they set up any sort of exclusion zone?

At least three people were injured in the parking lot of Lowe’s on Coffee Road, including a man facing “one obvious amputation, possibly a second,”

Thread title should be, "I personally witnessed an implosion today. It was steel wrenching."

Gonna be a large lawsuit.

Not sure he'll have a leg to stand on though.

Too soon? Just more proof that nothing good happens at 6am...

They do that in Veags all the time to take down the old cheesy hotels. The biggest issue is getting the hazmat out, lead asbestos and such....except they use shaped and directional charges......fuchen amateurs.....

They usually wrap the explosion sites in Kevlar blankets or bring in mounds of sand to catch shrapnel. Definitely did not do this one properly, if **** could fly that far.
