Wonderful book. I've given it to Hal a dozen people who all loved it. It's been discussed here before if memory serves. You might find dome good stuff from a few years back.

Absolutely read it!
I've also bought several (6 or 7 at least) as gifts. A story that shows unconditional love and a different, very delightful view of what it means to be an enlightened being. angela

My wife let me read her copy that someone gave her.
I picked it up because all the rave reviews it gets here. A good book but not a great book. I would have prefered more driving and less drama... but I'm a guy. I suppose many think "Le Mans" needed more story and less driving ![]() YMMV

This is an entertaining read even for people who aren't into cars. I went to a meet & greet with the author at a local book shop and found him to be a very interesting guy. A real gearhead and an accomplished SCCA road racer too. He quit racing after a serious shunt...while racing in the rain.
I loved the scene in the book where Denny uses a blanket to secure Enzo into the passenger seat of his race car and takes him out for some hot laps. He tells him to bark if he wants to go faster...Enzo is loving it!

I found that Enzo's passing was surreal and overpowering.

great book. the "mom scene" was a real tear jerker for me. i read it in a dark tunnel, while the guys were setting explosives. i had a head lamp...the guys came and got me to tell me to move, and saw how badly the dust had gotten into my eyes and set them flowing.
![]() i actually read the excerpt to them, and more than a few of them went and got the book.

outstanding read, easiest book I read in a long time, those evil twins, wanted to go over to mercer island and teach them a lesson.
That was the best 35 cent find at a estate sale my wife has brought home in a loooonnng time.

Yes, one of the most touching and sensitive descriptions of dying that I've ever read. Enzo's greatest desire came to pass though...coming back for another go 'round, but as a person this time.
I'm gonna read that book again!

I would be really happy to receive this kind of book in the PP gifts exchange - hint hint. Even a dog eared copy is fine. In exchange you get........

Great book. I read it too long after seeing recommended right here. It came up as recommended on my Nook and my memory was joggled. I shared it with my wife and daughters who also enjoyed it. Heck - one is an English major, so her opionion gets to count on these matters.
The whole story and dogs point of view really worked for me, it spoke to my heart. Could only be improved with craft brew content. |

I'll add my praise and the local Seattle content is spot on. The author, as someone here said, is the real deal. Gave up racing E30's I believe after an accident and knowing he had young kids already or on the way. Genuinely nice guy. I met him at a vintage race I was in. Being a dog guy and a car guy, and a sappy guy, it hit on all of that for me.
