my brain. love it but it gets me into trouble all the time. I'm not very smart, but it has an interesting way of looking at things and then doing things, that I like.

He did say below the head. However he did not say which head. So that gives me some latitude and longitude...:)

I was quite clear that I'm not very smart. :D

someone sees your scars, they ask HOW did you get them

someone sees your tattoos, they ask WHY did you get them.

people with scars tell more interesting stories

Well said.

A grizzled old man once told me "If you do it right, life marks you up just right. No need for decoration."

did you do acid as a younger man? I have found that people who have tripped on acid look at life a little differently for the rest of their life.

Shaun @ Tru6 09-15-2013 05:13 PM

As a younger man, my drug of choice was a '71 240Z with dual webers and headers. :) Never done acid, only smoked marijuana a handful of times, though that was fun.

It's best quality is innovation, it's constantly ferociously hungry to "do" and it's always been like it is, though when I was young, I was smart; alas, no longer. But that's part of the scars thread. :D

How could you not? Quite an experience to very suddenly realize that a solid 90% of what we are sold as 'true' is in fact 'belief'.

Congrats on your accomplishment. This past spring, I was up to about the same weight -- 261. I'm down 14 lbs to just under 246. The weight loss is going slower than expected, but I have been able to stick to my diet (1500 - 1800 calories per day), and have been exercising 3-4 times a week. (I know I need to crank up the exercise - need more cardio). Since I've been on my health kick, my diabetes control has improved significantly as well. I know I have a long way to go, but I am on the right track.

As for my body -- at 6'2", it is nice to stand head and shoulders above everyone else! (Except for in low-ceiling basements!! :o )

I dropped 60lbs in 54 weeks. Its incredibly important to take a slow approach as it transforms from a diet to a maintainable lifestyle which is key.

Weighed myself once a week, same day/time, every time to hold myself accountable to my goal...1lb/week lost. FYI, 1lb = 3000 calories. Thats only 428 calories/day average to either work off, not ingest, or both. Remember, after exercise your body keeps working.

Cardio is the only thing that will really show weight loss results. I did interval running, push-ups, sit-ups, stretching etc. anything that doesn't require a gym.

PM me if you'd like more info regarding "interval training"
