Your Body

Okay, if you think this is metrosexual or TIM, feel free to return to the food threads . . .

What part of your body do you like the most?

Why - because of what it does, how it looks, other? Do you credit genetics, hard work, ink artist, other means? Do you think anyone else notices, or is this a private opinion? Do you expect to lose this whatever-it-is as you age, or is it like fine wine? If the former, are you fighting its loss, or accepting it, how much is it going to bum you out?

"Body" is defined as from the neck down. I believe we've already had a long and thoroughly metrosexual thread about hair, and I don't even want to start a thread about facial features. Yes, you may name your private parts if you absolutely must, but I am hoping for a more aesthetic subject.

What does *** mean?

stomachmonkey 09-12-2013 08:23 PM

My hands.

Large for a person my size.

Slim, long fingers.

My almost first wife was horribly enamored with them.

I get complemented on them often.

Nothing on my body, but I would have to say -- scars, especially scars that have been earned the hard way, like Johnco's scars. There's often a story involved that's like a battle, even a battle for survival.

I once had a battle with a hockey puck. The 3 scars are almost invisible now, and are not visible when I'm wearing glasses... one on the right cheek (from the puck), and two under my chin from when I hit the ice. Ice is hard.

Tattoos don't impress me. Scars... damn straight.

I played hockey as a kid...on frozen rivers in No. Dakota.
Never took my eye off that puck!!! No scars.

I have no tats but I have the mother of all scars, from about my heart to my waist line along the left rib edge.

There must be a story behind that...do we need a new thread to hear it?

Don Ro 09-12-2013 09:10 PM

No scars from hockey...but I caught a stray bullet in Viet Nam in my side...an in/out flesh wound.
I doubt that I could find the scar any more. Only pain was that it burned like hell for an hour or so.

My legs. I'm built like a chicken. Fat body, bad ass slender legs. :D

What part do I like the most?
The whole is greater than the sum of it's parts.
My body usually gets whatever job done I request of it. That alone pleases me.

I have a flat stomach and like it - 5foot 10 inches and 170 pounds. My wife is also lean. We do a fair amount of walking. We both hate fat. And no pics....:)

911SauCy 09-13-2013 06:43 AM

My whole body.

I'm 6'2" @199lbs, I used to be 263lbs and thanks to my fat Italian family, had horrible eating habits/tendencies engrained as a child.

I have since been able to transform/maintain my eating habits, exercise regiment, and in turn my entire physique.

Results: This past year I killed the police physical test with 48push-ups in a minute, 43 sit-ups in a min, sit and reach 3.5" past my toes and ran a mile and a half in 10m26sec. Best shape of my life.

How long did it take you to drop 60 lbs?
Congrats on your accomplishment. This past spring, I was up to about the same weight -- 261. I'm down 14 lbs to just under 246. The weight loss is going slower than expected, but I have been able to stick to my diet (1500 - 1800 calories per day), and have been exercising 3-4 times a week. (I know I need to crank up the exercise - need more cardio). Since I've been on my health kick, my diabetes control has improved significantly as well. I know I have a long way to go, but I am on the right track.

As for my body -- at 6'2", it is nice to stand head and shoulders above everyone else! (Except for in low-ceiling basements!! :o )

"Mom! I discovered my special purpose! And I'm going to use it ALL THE TIME!!!"

BReif61 09-13-2013 07:35 AM

I'd say my chest/shoulders/arm area. I like my legs, too, but they're still a bit of a "work in progress" after shutting down the heavy lifting to preserve my knee.

Why? Because they make me look huge (which is always a bonus) and it's just validation of all the work I do at the gym. Plus the women love my arms haha
