Stop what you are doing and go see this movie in IMAX 3D.

I said so.

Great movie. I saw it last night with my son. :)

M.D. Holloway 10-04-2013 05:20 PM

HHI944 10-04-2013 06:05 PM

Yummmm!

Flieger 10-04-2013 06:20 PM

Is there more to the plot other than Sandra floating in her undies?

M.D. Holloway 10-04-2013 06:25 PM

do you need one?

Flieger 10-04-2013 06:30 PM

Yes, I've got car shows/races to go to and watch on TV this weekend. Cars > girls. :)

M.D. Holloway 10-04-2013 06:38 PM

So this is what I have to look forward to when I hit 60? I'm glad I have the intellect and maturity of a 14 year old!

That message was too subtle for me to get it completely. But I think you just called me a 60-year old. :D

Huh?

sc_rufctr 10-05-2013 02:37 AM

Honestly, Sandra is hot but in a mature and classy way. She must have worked out for this.

There's a lot more to the story than her floating around in her undies.
Some of the scenes were truly horrifying... Emphasising the dangers of space.

The way this movie is filmed will blow your mind. If this movie doesn't win best cinematography, I'll drive to LA and shoot the entire voting academy.

Lots and lots of tension at times, edge of your seat stuff...

Plus, the usual Clooney humor . And Sandra's legs, which have to be as good as they get for someone her age.

Trust me.... We've tried...

Sandra Bullock is annoying as hell. Hopefully she learned some new characters apart from the "sassy go getter"

Yes, girls are disposable...till you meet one that doesn't get on your nerves after 3 weeks.

Tall order, seriously.

That's about as far from her character in this movie as you could get.

Got a $25 Fandango gift card at work last week which is the only way I will ever go to the movies. Might see this one.

LOL, that was also a vague reference to Rush, which also had some girls much hotter than that picture of Sandra posted earlier. ;) Cars are better than a movie with hot girls (and no cool cars or airplanes or other stuff like that) in it. How about that? :)

Christien 10-05-2013 01:54 PM

Is Sandra Bullock any better of an actress now than in her heyday 10-15 years ago? I couldn't stand to watch her in a movie back then - terrible actress.

I've seen both movies and, as much as I like Rush, it's not even in the same ballpark as Gravity. One will win Oscars, the other won't. Guess which one?

You know she's an Oscar winner, right? Best actress, no less. Her best work is in the last couple of years, not 10-15 years ago.

She's getting great reviews for this movie. If nothing else, the cinematography will blow you away. Make sure you watch it in 3D, on an IMAX screen.

JR

Flieger 10-05-2013 02:21 PM

And still no one has told me what it is about. It appears that it is about floating around in the space station while some story plays out. They don't feel gravity so I guess that is why the movie is called that.

javadog 10-05-2013 02:25 PM

I started to type a synopsis of the plot but I don't want to reveal any surprises. I suggest you watch a trailer.

911_Dude 10-05-2013 03:51 PM

3D at an Imax. It was awesome visuals. The story was pretty good to. Amazing sets. I have to wonder about the first grade pictures in their "spaceship" checklist though. Like when she was trying to use the landing rockets to boost away. (I dont think thats spoiling anything). And in the end, I dont think anyone could do what she had to do. But it was a good flic none the less.

disaster in space, struggle to survive and some interesting allusions to rebirth and personal re-invention. stunning 3D stuff.

Just a fantastic movie!

....which is pretty much what a mission specialist is. Not a pro astronaut but someone who's on that one mission to perform one specific thing, because of whatever their specialty is.

Plus, it served another purpose, per flatbutt.

Just saw it....excellent cinema-tronics! 1.5 hrs of stress. My oldest brother was one of the tech manual writers for the 1st shuttle, and I have loved the shuttle program for its lifespan.

Gravity movie

We saw it. Great movie. I saw a few technical errors for my VERY LIMITED science knowledge. Nothing major.
