Finally bought a new track car...

Not the best picture ever, but it makes me smile, because it's parked in *my* driveway. The E46 Bimmer parked in the background is what I have been running -- and yes, I ran with the roof rack. I finally broke down and bought the Porsche to replace it. The BMW returns to daily driver service, and the 911 begins the slow journey to becoming a full-fledged track car.

Right now, it's a well-used daily driver that needs a bit of TLC. You may see some dings or misalignment in the pictures -- that's not photographic aberration, it's actually got some dings and scratches. She leaks oil, and has dog hair in the back seat. But the IMS bearing checks out (no metal in filter), and the engine runs strong as an ox, and she handles like, well, like a Porsche.

Cool! Will we see you up at Summit? Potomac puts on a good event.

Absolutely! I'm probably not on for any more events this season, but I'd like to get at least 3 or 4 days (or weekends) in next year.

I love doing the twisty parts of the Shenandoah Circuit in the Bimmer -- definitely looking forward to seeing how the 911 handles them!

Have you been on the big track? We're you at our event on the Shen in June? I probably saw you if you were there.

Nice car. Makes me think I need to get a car and get back to the track.

I agree, nice car and I'm also starting to get the itch to do a track day or two. Good Luck!

Congrats! More and more Pelicans are falling for the 996. They are great cars, particularly for the money.

Tragically, no, I only made it out to one track day this year, on the Shen circuit. I made the "big one" and the Shenandoah last year, both in the Bimmer.

And well they should, honestly. If you can get past the IMS issues and the ... ugly headlights, it's a great car. I haven't smiled this much since I was driving my '86. ))

DO IT! Get out there, man! It's awesome. Like drugs, except more expensive and addictive. But legal?
