I automatically assume anything at a consignment lot is overpriced, but take a look at this. Seems to have held up, at least in the pictures.

I guess I'm happy to see that it's not just my interior that's falling apart. Whatever materials they used on mine, should never be used again.

Way overpriced, 200k+ miles, no IMS bearing...

That's a $12k car in this market.

White. My favorite color!

Followed by red and yellow.

A few weeks ago, I inspected a 2000 coupe for a guy living 3000 miles away. 188K miles, 6-speed, Aerokit. Great deal at under $13K. He has put several thousand miles on it since and is very happy.

IMSb paranoia is overblown, IMO.

Yeah, you have a turbo so it's not an issue for you.

Was a huge relief when I had mine done... stopped worrying about it.

Yup. I will have to do a clutch in my 986S within the next 10k and really struggling with why I should bother. I'll probably end up changing it simply for the sake of resale value. The odds are probably equally good that my SC will grenade, which will cost me a LOT more money.

Oh boy yes!
Is that car lowered? It looks like a bit of speed bump scraper.

Just a heads up, the white 996 with HRE wheels was recently posted in Dallas and had TX plates, so that screams scam to me. It was also $17500 in the Dallas listing.

A930Rocket 08-13-2016 06:45 PM

$18,500 in this ad with Texas plates.

For 15K, this appears to be in good shape and it has a...

I was about say that's a good IMS solution until I read that it needs a new battery back and new controller. Must be the curse of the 996 that even an EV can big a huge paperweight.

How about a turbo for $26,500? Says it has a *RESTORED TITLE* though.

True but a dollar is a dollar locally. They've since sold the car. Some old fart bought it.

looks like a few TTs there at below market price. These cars will continue to drop in price as the mid-years and long hoods increase. I'm just waiting for that even trade off...

Paul_Heery 08-16-2016 05:08 AM

Picked this one up for my wife. It is the color combo that we both wanted, Ocean Blue exterior with a Savanna Beige interior. The interior is full leather that has been well preserved. 2000 C2 Cabriolet 6MT with 48K miles & all records including IMS done.

We love having the hardtop. It is a very different car with & without the hardtop on.

^^ Nice car.

Is the hardtop as quiet as a coupe? I am debating getting a cab...but I would need the hard top.

It's a two person job to install? How heavy is it?

With the hardtop on, it is very quiet compared to having the ragtop up only. The hardtop weighs 72 lbs. It is a two person job to install it manually. But, I will be putting a hoist in the garage to keep the hardtop up & out of the way and it should also turn installation/removal into a one person job.
