I swear Porsche must buy silver by the boat load.

B@sturd! Where did you get that?

Nova Scotia... I picked it up Monday. A few weeks ago I set up a search on Kijiji to start watching prices with the intention of buying one in the spring. Most of the C4S's ran in the 35-45k CAN range for decent low-milers. This one popped up with two crappy pictures for 32k, and then dropped to 30k within a few days. I started emailing him and it became apparent the car was regularly used (including some winter driving) and enthusiast owned/maintained. I beat up on the price because the clutch is a bit weak (came with a Sachs kit in the trunk) and the brakes are about 30%. IMSB has never been touched, I'll take a look at it when I do the clutch in the spring.

Thanks, me too! It's a real hoot and I'm loving it. My kids LOST THEIR MINDS when I picked them up after school on Monday

Very nice, Jake!
Been looking for something like that too.

Have you tested the handbrake? :)

Firewood season. Let's see it loaded up!

Congrats Jake, looks great. It looks like it has the Sport Techno Wheels? I had mine redone this year. I also found a set of original turbo hollow spokes with winter dunlops shortly after I bought mine.

Lots of car for $18K. Sounds like a good owner with lots of history. The problem with many of these older cars is that current owners could barely afford to buy them in the first place so maintenance is often not kept up. Sounds like this seller was not one of those guys. Being a 2001 its a 3.4 liter but I think that is not a negative. The headlights on the other hand...

That is exactly the kind of owner you want to buy from.

pretty car!

I'm not a fan of 996s principally because of the weight, slab sides and headlight design, but $14K? https://boston.craigslist.org/sob/snw/d/holiday-special-beautiful/6365523418.html

There are a few covers out there. You can also go full 997 front end but at 997 prices, you would just get a 997. On the covers, though unlikely I'll ever get a 996, I would certainly fill the fender gap and either paint/blend into the fenders or paint the whole front end.

The curse of the Cab. A C4 Cab no less. The only thing worse (in terms of resale value) would be if it was an automatic. Great cars I am sure, but like you, I am just not a fan of the 996 in general.
If I were to ever be swayed it wouldn't be an open-top car that does it. YMMV, but there are plenty of 996 cabs (and even a few coupes) out there under $14k:
