So he's calling his coupe a cabriolet?

Is that a red flag?

I noticed that too, but I think that it's just one of those "autofill" errors when you are creating the listing for the car. He correctly calls it a coupe below that and describes the car for sale in a way that sounds legit.

As always, you need to investigate further than an ad on the internet if you're a serious buyer.

It's a 2000 C2 with 95k. Metallic black (great color) over gray full leather interior, factory carbon fiber interior, hifi audio with navigation, factory aero kit, 3-spoke wheel, full power seats with memory, window sticker shows it as $96k MSRP new. IMS, RMS, clutch, and the 90k service were done at 90k. The interior is reasonably clean but shows some sun wear on the leather dash and carbon fiber trim that I will need to resolve. It has a decent quality respray from a front end collision years ago, and obviously the front aero kit spoiler was not reinstalled so I need to get one of those. Plan is to get it cleaned up better and use it as a daily driver. Eventually I'll find some different wheels, RoW M030 suspension to replace the tight but tired stock suspension, and mufflers+intake to get better sound.

never seen a taco car on 17's before, would be interesting to check the option list in the frunk to see what was ordered on the car

That one has later style headlights/bumper, so possibly a little collision in the front. At any rate, Porsche sold about a zillion of these cars in those years and they will be plentiful on craigslist for a long time to come.

I actually have the original window sticker, it only came with 17" wheels. So despite being the most heavily optioned 996 that I have owned, it is my first one with 17" wheels. I am actively searching for a new set, though I think the right set of 17" wheels with a better stance would be fine. I like the look of 18" wheels, but like the light weight and cheaper tires of 17".

Where are you located?

In North Texas - between Dallas and Ft Worth

No kidding... I love the 996... But I thought I saw a camry at first....

Seriously? Why are lame ass colors like that popular?

eastbay 11-14-2013 09:03 PM

Another car with 17's.... For anyone following the thread and thinking of a 996, 18" wheels and tires utterly transform the driving experience.

Absolutely worth finding a car with them or upgrading.

JavaBrewer 11-14-2013 09:19 PM

Agreed. You get what you pay for. Craptastic beige 996 - no thanks So you save 3-4k on an ugly color. Worth it? Me no.

North TX. Come on folks lets find the guy a car!

Please come by before 8:30pm to see this car, I like to be in bed by 9.

They must have sold a crap-ton on cars in 1999....almost every car here is from that year. Or are they just the cheapest of the cheap?

Dennis: stop with the 'bottom is falling out of the market'. I want to to buy now!
