Honestly I'd rather have the red...

I could get away with something slightly less sensible now with my 6 mile commute. As long as it has something that resembles seats the kids can fit in. I've only got to drive them a mile from day care to home!

You can totally haul kids in a 996, especially just two. I even had a car seat in mine at one point.

That interior is a bit hard on the eyes. And, a tip?

My sentiments exactly, but maybe that's what you're into. An ass for every seat, amiright?

LOL, that's ironic because I do and have been trying to talk myself out of buying that car for two days. I'll probably cave and contact the seller this weekend.

Lesson to the younger generation:
If you spend your entire life saving every penny and not spending anything on yourself, when you get older you'll find that you are so conditioned you don't know how to spend money on yourself.

I've noticed that you like the burl wood, different strokes for different folks. But definitely ask about the condition of the wood, if the car has sat in the sun the finish will fake and become milky, the clearcoat will crack, and the wood will fade. Those parts add up quickly if you have to replace them, even just going back to standard plastic 996 bits. That car has also been lowered, so definitely ask about that. It also has the PSE style sport exhaust tips that were optional but don't show up on the factory option list, I would ask if it has a sport exhaust. Maybe someone just swapped the tips too.

Mike, from what I have read the wood makes it tougher to sell, and can fade pretty quickly.

Also, I'd be worried about the K&N. Is it an X50 car (I have the same exhaust tips on my car, after one of the stock ones came apart at speed on the interstate I got some GT2 take offs...).

2002 is a good year because you do not have to deal with the MOST system if you want to change the head unit.

The exterior color is nice.

Awesome suggestions and insight! Yes, I do like wood, if it is real. And yes I want a TIP. I am of the mindset now that shifting is a pain especially in traffic. I like simple and frankly a go peddle and a stop peddle is enough for me. While I enjoy driving my Targa, the stop and go around here is just a pain in the arse. Sorry, I am lazy and admit it.

I don't mind the manual trans, the car will see weekend-once in a while-special occasion type of use, definitely not a daily commuter car.

That's what the pickemup is for.

Nice exterior with the Aero kit and the BBS wheels, but no full leather interior would be a deal killer for me.
