I don't see anything wrong with the photo. Some security person simply did screen grabs and pasted them on a document. Its not like they tried to photoshop them. Are you guys suggesting the Malaysian army or intelligence services couldn't photoshop a photo properly?

I understand the suspicion however. The lack of information is maddening. I don't think Malaysian officials are used to the intensity of the Western media. The various agencies don't seem to have good communications, so different officials are opening their mouths and creating a confusing story.

This thing is getting better than a Clancy novel......

If there is any good to come from this whole situation, it's that the world is now aware of the complete lack of passport security in most areas outside the U.S. and European Union. Oh yeah, and if you're a pretty blonde, you get to ride in the cockpit of a commercial airliner.
If there is any good to come from this situation....lack of passport security...lol. There's a total breakdown in air transport, involves multiple government security agencies, pilots who continue breaking rules putting others at risk and the list goes on.

And letting hottie's could be the new secret weapon for terrorist. Next time might be dropping poison in drinks or a stab to the jugular.

Why are you so sure that the US and European union are any better at passport control? Do you seriously think no one flies on fraudulent documents on western carriers?

My company recently had to assist in the deportation of a person that was flown into Canada by a western carrier who was being deported as he was not the individual he claimed to be. This happens MANY times a year in both Canada and the USA

An article linked earlier in this thread stated that the USA was the most frequent user of the Interpol stolen passport database.

Right, this is simply pasting image 1, print, paste image 2, print, image 2 overlays image 1, doesn't excite anyone but news-starved conspiracy junkies.

I know someone in TSA that works at Burbank/ Bob Hope. I was talking to them yesterday and they told me a guy with an ID with picture that looked nothing like him (ID was clean cut, this guy was gang banger material) tried to board a flight to Sacramento, then Oakland, then San Francisco. 3 failed attempts.

I asked if he was arrested and he said no, just wouldn't let him on the flight. WTF? The guy should have at least been detained until he was found to be no threat.

I think the flight crew took the plane, they should start checking craigslist or ebay.

How does it get cut in half and align it's self? I missed that part.

I'll agree with this long before you convince me that the photos released were not doctored with. I'm not saying there was a reason other than incompetence and idiocy though.

When Air France flight 447 from Rio de Janeiro to Paris went down in 2009, it was five days before any wreckage was spotted and nearly two years before its "black boxes" were found - at a depth of around 4,000m (13,000ft). None of the 228 people on board the Airbus 330 survived. French investigators found that the autopilot disconnected, probably after air speed instruments were frozen by ice crystals, and then the pilots steered the plane at too steep an angle to maintain speed - eventually stalling it - despite a warning sounding in the cockpit for nearly a minute. Air France rejected those accusations.

If the legs on the picture were cut off and lined up, by accident. How does the shadow appear on the left picture? Very odd!
It may have been done to hide something/evidence that the left guy was carrying? But just show a close up and chop the legs off on both! Too strange!

There is nothing even remotely suspicious about the photographs. The alteration is obvious. The photo doctoring was not accidental. The left image was cropped, probably to remove another individual in the foreground.

The shadow is from the cell phone in the press conference. You don't see the shawdow in the image that contains the cell phone, so the shadow is not in the original. It's from a picture of the original taken at the press conference where there was a shadow from the cell phone being held up.

The doctoring was probably done out of pure stupidity to make the images the same size.

The photo alteration was done in such a sloppy fashion that no reasonable mind could attribute any nefarious intent -which I think was HardDrive's point. If this is the level of competence of the alleged conspiracy, it would be found out almost immediately - ergo there is no conspiracy. It's a nutjob red herring.

Perhaps a false flag so that legitimate images which may appear later can be discredited?

One thing about the oil worker's claim. If it proves to be true, it could be consistent with the last known change in course of the plane which, presumably was done by the on board computer. It's simply another piece of information that must be fully analyzed before being accepted or rejected.

Transponder's fate may prove key to solving Malaysia Airlines puzzle
By Tom Watkins and Steve Almasy, CNN
updated 1:49 PM EDT, Wed March 12, 2014
Transponder's fate may prove key to solving Malaysia Airlines puzzle - CNN.com
Quote:
(CNN) -- As investigators search for clues to what happened to Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, the answer to one question may prove key: Why did the transponder in the Boeing 777-200ER stop transmitting information?

The fact that it happened at all is astonishing to John Nance, a broadcast aviation analyst and veteran pilot. "It is hard to conceive of a situation in which a triple seven would lose all ability to have its transponder on and the crew would not find some way to communicate," he told CNN.

A senior Malaysian air force official said Tuesday that the plane traveled hundreds of miles in the opposite direction from its original destination, and had stopped sending identifying transponder codes before it disappeared from radar screens.

http://www.cnn.com/2014/03/12/world/asia/malaysia-airlines-transponder/
Quote:
Q. Why would you turn off a transponder during a normal flight?

There could be several reasons. One reason could be when airplanes get close to each other (perhaps they are approaching an airport). Air traffic controllers may then request pilots to turn the transponders off or to standby. Also, if the transponder is sending faulty information, the pilot might want to turn it off. Planes are still visible on primary radar until they get below the radar's coverage ability.

Malaysia is a destination, and to a lesser extent, a source and transit country for women and children subjected to trafficking in persons, specifically conditions of forced prostitution and for men, women, and children who are in conditions of forced labor. The majority of trafficking victims are foreign workers who migrate willingly to Malaysia from Indonesia, Nepal, India, Thailand, China, the Philippines, Burma, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Vietnam in search of greater economic opportunities, some of whom subsequently encounter forced labor or debt bondage at the hands of their employers, employment agents, or informal labor recruiters.

While many of Malaysia’s trafficking offenders are individual business people, large organized crime syndicates are also behind some of the trafficking of foreigners in Malaysia. A significant number of young women are recruited for work in Malaysian restaurants and hotels, some of whom migrate through the use of “Guest Relations Officer” visas, but subsequently are coerced into Malaysia’s commercial sex trade. Such women from China are nicknamed "China Dolls".[1] Many Malaysian labor outsourcing companies apparently recruited excess workers, who were then often subject to conditions of forced labor. Some Malaysian citizens are trafficked internally and abroad to Singapore, Hong Kong, France, and the United Kingdom for commercial sexual exploitation. There were approximately two million documented migrant workers in Malaysia in 2009, and an additional estimated 1.9 million who were undocumented.
