The chaos continues. The pings may not even have been from the aircraft!

"Our best theory at this point is that [the pings were] likely some sound produced by the ship... or within the electronics of the towed pinger locator," Michael Dean, the US Navy's deputy director of ocean engineering, told CNN.

This is a really stupid thought, but could the plane have crashed in water, had some neutral buoyancy and drifted thousands of miles with the current before settling to the bottom of the ocean?

I think most of us know know-
ELT function from at least "G" force maybe other inputs.
AFAIK, if it landed normally it would say NOTA.
Like I have said B4 it was tracked by radar and the truth is known, but we can spend our lives coming up with all the different scenarios .
If it "landed" it will never be seen again.
Its not too hard to figure out.

It will go down (pardon the pun) in the annals of history as " The Perfect Crime".

Hey, it take a long time to refuel with a hand pump.

At the beginning of the flight, the pilot queued the radio and said: "ladies and gentlemen, we've just lost the starboard engine. Now there's no need to panic, we can still make it to our destination but it will take 4 hours longer".

Just then one of the blond female passengers leaned over and said "I sure hope we don't lose that other engine, we'll be stuck up here forever!"

and THAT'S what happened.

No it ain't too soon. Not anymore.

I haven't heard anything lately, so I looked up the topic and found something which looks interesting.

Is this proof that flight MH370 was downed by a 'blow torch' fire in its cockpit? British lawyers claim missing jet could have suffered same fate as another Boeing 777 three years ago
MH370 'flight-deck fire' similar to one that broke out on same Boeing model | Mail Online
Quote:
Investigators pinpointed a problem with the cockpit hose used to provide oxygen for the crew in the event of decompression.
A total of 280 Boeing 777s had been delivered with the faulty wiring, Mr Healy-Pratt said
Following the 2011 blaze US aircraft owners were instructed to replace the system - it is not clear if Malyayisa Airlines had carried out this change,
Mr Healy-Pratt said.
He said the fault can cause a 'blowtorch type fire' that will melt aluminium in a matter of seconds.

so no nukes, and the leading theory is fire on the flight deck.

yup, pretty much called it.

you see, a huge pet peeve of mind is absurd predictions which never turn out to be true, but the folks making them constantly make them, which means every once in a while, they are right, and the point to that one time they were right as a sign they know what they are talking about it. when they have made insane predictions hundreds, even thousands of times, while being wildly wrong.

meanwhile, the most obvious answer, electrical problems leading to fire and eventual loss of aircraft possibly due to negligence of the operators, the most obvious, and basic answer to what happen, remains the obvious and basic answer.

so every once in a while, when someone says something insane that turns out to not be true, its worth it to remind them, that they are dead wrong most of the time.
