Proof that the 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo S is unbreakable

.Porsche told us that the PDK transmission in the 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo S would take whatever abuse we threw at it. It was a perfect excuse to ask Bill Caswell to help us celebrate 50 years of Porsche with 50 consecutive launch control starts. You must see the violence to appreciate it. Watch Bill Caswell try to break the Porsche 911 Turbo S

I'd love to see someone try that in a Ferrari.

When the nissan GTR came out it had impressive zero to 60 numbers, but the new owners couldn't duplicate them unless they turned off the computer nanny control.

Then after a few tries they were towed to the dealer who said that'll be $14 grand for a new tranny, no warranty, you turned off the safety control.
Turns out the nanny computer was detuned to protect parts that could not handle full power under launch.

IIRC there was a lawsuit over that.

It'd make a great bracket racer - if you can maintain a decent r.t. and you don't redlight you'll be kissing the trophy girl at the end of the night.

I read the article and the author theorizes that this is actually a boring car because of all the computer help.

I doubt a Prius has launch control. I could be wrong as I know very little about them.

I don't know, either, it was just an ill-advised attempt at humor....

yes and porsche blatently called nissan liars when they posted a sub turbo s time for the gtr on the nurburgring.

They bought their own gtr and a profesional driver couldent get anywhere near the advertised time. I suspect porsche put R&T up to this test to jab nissan a bit.

I, for one, think it was an excellent attempt at humor.

Put it in a rental fleet and see what happens.

Love the hands-free launch. Useful when you are launching to 100 mph while texting :-)

Lifetime clutch, that's impressive. I doubt my 996 would take many full throttle launches.

And holding a latte in the other hand.

Wow, that computer sure has the right amount of wheel slip worked out for any surface.

Is that transmission made out of dried Chuck Norris blood or what?
