Thanks, not sure what TSN2 is but I will watch at 3 PM.
I asked simply because I figured someone might have the info at hand, wasn't trying to be a PITA. Thanks |

Also, Indy car racing on today from St. Pete. Maybe not so much interest here, but I still enjoy it a lot. Was at the this race a couple of years ago.
Watch for Montoya, in car number 2, and Tony Kanaan in Dario's old car number 10, and Bourdais is back.. . Also looks like Simona DeSilvestro not racing this year. 430 ATL today on ABC, 330 ETZ |

Also, There are at least 3 EX formula 1 drivers today at St. Pete and one of them is on pole.

While the Mclaren is certainly ugly - the way these new cars get around the track when in close proximity is far from ugly. I really love that you can tell the difference between a driving "saving" his fuel/tires, and a driver going for it. Before, with Traction Control, and higher rear DF, the only way to know was laptimes. Now the driver's going for it, are making little tiny twitches and its very fascinating to watch.

Great for Merc and especially for Petronas, home town win given recent events. Looks like Riccardo got the Weber crew. Apparently Alonso's radio failed. What's up with Kimi's car?

Im watching the race now and its very boring. Not much changed fron last year. I used to like F1, but not so much now. At least I have last year's races tvo'd, so I can listen and smile.

I liked the race good driving by you know who.
One thing i would like to know is how do they use the KRS to spool up the turbos?

Mercedes has split the hot and cold sides of the turbo with an electric motor in between, mounted on the shaft. When they reach their boost limit the electric motor acts as a generator so no wastegate, the exhaust energy gets converted to electric energy. This can then be sent directly to the KERS motor to add torque to the wheels, or it can be sent into the battery. To spool up the turbo the ERS-H (heat) works as a motor instead of a generator. It uses energy from the battery to accelerate the turbo shaft.

Wow, what an awful race to try to watch. Boring doesn't begin to describe it.

If Botas was really faster he should be able to pass without Massa pulling over.
If it was near the end of the season and Botas needed a couple more points to win the championship and Massa was out of contention, yea help your teammate out.

There are a few F1 drivers who will not let anyone pass them for points... teammate or not. Vettel is one who wants to win no matter what. Michael Schumacher was another. Some teams in the past allowed the drivers to race at all costs (1986 Williams allowing Mansel and Piquet to compete allowing Prost to win the title) and some have not (Ferrari.) I don't like for the team to pick the winner. Let the race decide who wins.

Massa did the right thing, it was stupid of them to ask.
The race though, was quite racy. especially at the start and at the end I was glad to see Seb try for a wet t-shirt podium. ![]()

FWIW watched the race on Univision and have done that a # of times now. It was on earlier on Sunday morning and there are NO COMMERCIALS. You even follow the drivers in post race while they're toweling off, drinking water and talking to each other before the podium ceremonies. It's in Spanish but if you know even a modicum it's very easy to follow.
Very glad to see the Williams cars returning to form.... Last edited by cairns; 03-31-2014 at 12:23 PM.. |
