Playing off the anger thread. Someone once told me he thought jealousy was the more uncontrollable emotion compared to anger. He felt you could put your mind to it and stifle anger. He was dating this absolutely smoking hot girl from the Philippines at the time. She was crippled from her jealousy. It was kinda scary to see.

There's always a little jealously of those who live a nicer lifestyle, isn't there? Heck, I'd love to have a nicer house (aka one with a bigger garage ), live in a prettier neighborhood, have the ability to go on exotic trips, have a vacation house, etc. But not enough that I lose any sleep over it or wish others ill-will.

I think jealousy is (mostly) a condition of younger people who are still maturing in their outlooks on life and relationships with other people. As we grow up, as children we are accustomed to being the center of attention and on the receiving end of giving. As we begin to interact with people (the opposite sex?) at a younger age, we are still more in that mode of being on the receiving end than the giving end. I'd like to think as we mature, we gradually realize giving can be as rewarding as receiving and we can't expect others to be held prisoners of our desires, expectations & the center of their attentions. We realize we have options in life and hopefully others have the liberty to enjoy options too.

Lol! I'm not jealous. Maybe a little bit when it comes to lifestyle things. Nothing unhealthy.

I've dated a few super jealous women. Relationship was doomed. So unattractive to me.

I was speaking with a fellow the other day about relationships and I realized he is consumed with jealousy and suspicion about relationships, what people say about him and how others act around him. Nothing is his fault, according to his perspective.
Remember the old joke, "Nothing says 'I love you' like a restraining order."?
That could have been written for him.
At first I laughed at one of his statements, then I realized the man needs help. Serious help.

After #1, who I trusted 100%, cheated on me with a minimum of 5, I don't trust 100%.

BUT, if I lived my life not trusting my wife, it would be a pretty sucky existence...

Soooo true. The saying, "you don't know what you have 'till it's gone" comes to mind.

No jealousy here. In general I've learned to "let go" and forgive. Jealousy and anger are burdens that the person who is jealous or angry bears. The other person might not have a clue and not be affected by those thoughts that the other has for them.

I dislike people that "count other people's money". I say more power to them.

I think this is so true. When we first got married young (25/23) I think jealousy was an issue. Now after being married for 20 years the only thing that pops up is when my wife travels and gets jealous that I get to stay home with our pups.

She travels 3-5 days a week and I trust her 100%, I'm home the whole time and she trusts me the same. So much so that she volunteers me to train some of the gals we know from our favorite eating spots at our home Crossfit gym.
