You'd already be there if you had bought a jet-pack.

Seems like this ***** is getting to be the norm in the bay area. It's a rare day when there not some "accident" on the freeways or bridges. And it's happening earlier when there are few cars on the road. WTH

They are almost never an "accident." They are mostly just wrecks cause by bad driving.

Long ago, in a far away place, they used to have wrecks on the freeways just like us.

But unlike us, they cleaned em up right away and swept up the mess and got the cars off the road and let traffic flow again in a reasonable amount of time and everyone was happy.

Except the lawyers, they were all kilt off so they couldn't sue anyone and that's why the po po could clean up the wreck scene without having to stand around and take pictures and document everything for 12 freaking hours while people sit fuming in their cars.

And everyone lived happily ever after. The end.

Same &^%$en thing up here...

Car rollover 50' from the highway at 13:15. Well at the 17:00 at go home rush hour, the car is still there on its roof, only one line open causing a 15 miles backlog because they are still documenting how the idiot end up there

I was in that this morning but I got off at Gregory lane and went the back way into Lafayette. Got to have options when commuting.

Similar accident today in Arizona. I-17 was shut down completely for 10 hours, the only real route to the northern part of the state without going several hours out of your way. If you stuck behind the accident - tough. No exits for miles and no frontage roads. It seems to be happening more often here in AZ as well.

I think it's happening everywhere more often now, I just remarked to my wife the other night that there's a wreck on my commute at least once or twice a week now. I agree w/ the cellphones/distracted driving reason - how many idiots do you see each day either texting or holding their phones to their ears...and driving 20mph slower than the pack and / or having trouble staying in their lanes?

The one thing that somewhat calms me down when I'm stuck is to think 'someone is having a much worse day than me...at least I'm just stuck in it and not involved in it....'

I had the fun of a California round trip commute from Monterey to San Jose on a Monday and Friday morning just last week. No wrecks and traffic flowed OK except in San Jose. I could never handle that on a regular basis. I makes me so much appreciate my daily commute. I drive down a paved country style road and on several occasions per month I don't see another car at all for the first 3 miles of my 8 mile commute. For 2.5 miles near my house I see no businesses and only a few very nice homes. Well, there is one 40 acre farm and I guess that is a business but all I see from the road is the old farm house.

California was a great vacation spot, I have been there three times. I brought a bucket load of money and left it there in California. I am sure I will be back again.

Yes I see more accidents in Canada and the US than I ever did in the UK. I think it's the mentality of a very small % of drivers. Too bad they have to spoil it for others.....
