1. Can only be transported to and from the gun store / home, to and from a shooting range / home, to and from home to hunting area.
2. When moving from one home to another, they cannot be transported from the old address to the new address. While there is an exemption to transport firearms from old home to new home, there is no excemption for hollow point ammunition.
3. If used in a criminal manner, there are additional fines/punishment for using hollow point ammunition.

Welcome to the Nanny state of New Jersey! Be sure to leave your freedom at the state border, where you can pick it up upon your exit.

BTW: there is a case pending right now where a nurse who resides in Philadelphia and has a PA CCW was arrested in NJ because she assumed her PA CCW is valid in NJ. Note: NJ has no CCW reciprocity with any other state. Obtaining a NJ CCW requires one to prove that he or she has had their life threatened, and can prove a firearm is the only action that will prevent future threats. (IE: your NJ CCW will be awarded post-humously after you are dead and buried.)

Sorry - I don't mean to take this to PARF - I am just making you aware of the super strict gun laws we have, and how easy it can be for someone to mistakenly get in a heap of trouble here...

You had a guy a few years back who was on a flight connecting through Newark IIRC.

His plane landed late so he missed his connection.

They lost his luggage which included his checked firearm and by the time it was found he'd missed the bus the airline had arranged to drive passengers to their final destination.

He grabbed a hotel for the night and upon trying to get on the next flight out in the am was arrested and spent a couple of weeks in jail.

She doesn't deserve the jail sentence she's gonna get. But she's too dumb to have a CCW and, if she keeps it and her right to own a gun (unlikely after a felony conviction), she'll get herself into trouble again. Life is hard on stupid people.

I would not be so quick to call her stupid and cast judgement on her. After all, she does live in a free state where guns are not looked upon as evil. Though, it was foolish of her to assume her CCW was valid in NJ as well.

She has a CCW for PA because she was already mugged twice.

When she was pulled over by police (not sure the reason she was pulled over), she volunteered her CCW paperwork, and stated that she was carrying, as she does in PA. Had she not done that in NJ, it would not have been revealed she had a CCW or a firearm.

They are discussing this in a lot of detail on Gun For Hire Radio's Podcast (Episode 167) if you want to hear more info on this case.

I'm from NJ and got my first CCW while living in PA. If you think your CCW is valid everywhere, you're too dumb to have one. It's not like she was from Erie or Altoona, where she might not have ever been to NJ before. She lives just across the bridge!

Rick - point taken. This is a prime example of why one must understand the laws regarding firearms if they own one!
