Vintage Motorcycle Thread
Stumbled on this in a garage filled with Harleys, a 1977 Kawasaki KZ1000 LTD. Never owned a bike but when I got my cycle buddies on the phone and they said things like "first superbike", "rare" and "classic" I jumped on it for $1500. Can anyone confirm that these were the first 1000 cc displacement bikes?
Post up whatever old bike you have and tell us how it came to be yours. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1408297082.jpg |
Nice!!!!!!!! $1500 is an absolute steal. I don't think that color is original but so what.
1977 KZ1000 is Kawasaki's first 1000cc four cylinder. In addition, the 1970's japanese bike market is getting ridiculous, and it's not likely to stop for a while if at all! |

Just finished putting my 78 CB750F all back together--still can't get it to fire though. This week I start the trouble-shooting process, but it may take some time since I just bought a 75 750F on Saturday(just what I needed another bike project).

Mechanically restored a '54 R25/3 a few years back. Loved tooling around town on it but started getting the itch for a 'real' bike for the road and decided it was best to let it go and walk from the hobby altogether.

Kinda found a cheap one on CL. Looking for a parts bike and found one in a lot nicer condition, so the first one became the parts bike. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1408375636.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1408375679.jpg For sale! Need $s for Porsche parts!! :D |
Not technically vintage, but given that Royal Enfield didn't change the design for 50 years......

^^^^Nice scrambler! If you got the headlight bucket painted that would look almost brand new!
