This lady in the D-type was one of the high points of the weekend for me. She was a friend of the owner and he insisted that she sit in the car, it doesn't maybe show in this photo but she was filled with glee and felt like a teenager suddenly- she grabbed the wheel and said, "let's go!"

I saw lots of owners letting people, including children, sit in their cars for photos. The reality is that the cars are very old and unfortunately many of the owners are as well, it's cool to see them having some fun but it's bittersweet.

I went there in '96. I drove my '67 fastback up there with a 3 year old and 7year old son. No Ac, no power steering, window etc. We got into the hotel pretty late that night and when we got back to the car in the morning the lot was all early 911's and Ferrari's. all 4 corners of the mustang had guys looking under it! My boys had been brought up with car manners and had kept 2' away from all of the cars in the pits. An owner of a Masarati Bird cage watched how Andrew and Matt kept their hands off of cars and gave them space. He pulled the velvet rope away and let my boys climb into the driver seat and play. I enjoyed the trip well and need to go back. I went up there to here the auto union v16 car run sad thing is that it never hit more than 2,500 rpm

That 64 911 that Seinfeld is driving was the first 911 ever imported into the US, if I remember correctly. He loaned it to Porsche themselves for a while to put on display.

And there he is driving it around. Huge props to him, wow. Because it's one thing to buy them up and keep them, but it's another to buy them up and drive them around on public roads. And actually drive them around, not just ship them and have them pushed onto the lawn for you.

He was definitely driving it on the street. I think that all of his cars get driven.

Incredibly important Jim, I'll be working on this with Saucy Jr. as he grows.

I about had an Elephant when i watched a 5-ish y/o kid climb up and slide down the hood of a '73 RS... Discipline was mom saying "that's not a slide"

That Seinfeld car was at the Werks Reunion. They said it was considered the first production 911. Special color paint, sunroof, lot of other options. Dr. Porsche is said to have driven it for about a year as his personal car.

I took lots of pics and there are a lot I did not take, like the whales jumping out of the water in Big Sur with hundreds of motorists pulled over in absolute awe.

Here are a few, I'll add to the thread later when I have more time.

Anyone know what that white car is?

EDIT: You are correct, my first search was a lazy one...just looked at your wiki link...it is indeed an Enzmann.
