All due respect but I would think those would be major consideration in a winter beater.
YMMV
I drove my 99 Miata for 4 years year round. It was a good winter car but got stuck a couple of times . I had Blizzaks and the traction was good but once the snow depth got to the bottom of the car it was pretty much all over. . A couple of years ago a man and his daughter were driving in winter conditions here and he got in to an accident which killed his daughter. Apparently he did not have winter tires. I see you have them which is a plus. I agree with the above the Miata is not the most visible car around. Cars just seem to drift into your lane as if you were not there.

Yep that is a great find!

I think that the quickest I've ever gone from 20 mph to 100 mph in any vehicle was in that (R5-T2) car.

I would love to sell you the 850 R for $1900. Break even and everyone is happy.
Can't do it right now.
My daughter might need it. She has a 850 T5 with 140K and it is starting to act up.
Don't know what the real problem is because she is in L.A. and we are in Sacramento.
Not too far from Washington. Keep you in mind. Thanks for asking.

Don

Thanks. I have wanted one of these for a while, and something less than $2k makes it worth my while to get into it.

If you come to the point where you are looking to sell, PM me.

update, i had to put in a new alternator as the one it was over charging the battery to the tune of 17 volts.

810 + 75 = 885 total spent.

My best winter car was a Toyota Celica all wheel drive Turbo (88) which I bought for about $750 needing a clutch. Only changed the disc and it was an amazing winter car for 3 yrs . Absolutely nothing else broke or wore out. Heavy winter salting here and lots of snow. I seem to remember the AC even worked.
Sold it for $1500 before it fully dissolved.
