How many years have you owned your Porsche?
I was thinking yesterday...going to be 15 years since I bought my car from the original owner in 2000...15 YEARS! still rolling at 183, 400 miles!
Please post a pic of your 'baby'!, and if you have a 'pet-name' for your car. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1417121170.jpg |

19 for the current one. 21 years for the one before the current Porsche.
|
For the current one, not quite four years.

i think i've had ingrid for nine years. the previous '83 944 i owned for maybe six years. i also had a 924, in my twenties. i owned the 924 for about six weeks and sold it for a profit. i got pulled over 7 times in 6 weeks in that bright red 924. not one ticket. one officer told me, "it looked like you were going fast." um.... okay.... :)

In 2003, I got pulled over in Pomona after a cop saw me going thru an intersection. No less than 4 squad cars positioned themselves within 5 minutes strategically near, but not blocking my car. Officer told me that I was going 50...I asked if he could validate that claim, since it was not on radar, and would not stand up in court. He closed his ticket book without saying a word, got back in his ride, and that was that! |

No nicknames, just the SC , the C4S, or the Turbo. Cheerioh! |
15, but it's been in the family its entire life.
|
|
I've owned my SC for 16 years but it's been off the road a total of 5 years in that 16!
Two different restoration periods and a gearbox rebuild will do that. (Body, Electrics and interior refresh) Right now she's running like a champ but the I plan on rebuilding the braking system over the Christmas break. Once that's done it should be (I Hope) just maintenance and consumables. She owes me a total of about $40,000 total including the sale price... If you do the maths that pretty cheap motoring and certainly cheaper than buying any new car! |

WOW! URY914 and hardflex are the true oldtimers with their 914s!......cool!
Hats off to you guys! |

I was born 3/11/71. Went for my first ride in what is now my 356 on 3/14/71, on the way home from the hospital.
Dad died in '94, I was supposed to get the M491 911 (now Shaun's) and older brother was to get 356, but older brother had no interest in owning either car, so I let mom "have" the 911. She had a local shop do some work and presented the keys and title to me the day my daughter was born - 7/26/2000. Strangely enough, I found Dad's original receipt for the 356 - he paid $3750 for the C coupe w/ a dealer installed Artic Kar AC unit and took delivery from White Porsche of Tampa on 7/26/65. |
10? Maybe.

24 years for me. Both are aging gracefully
|
I've owned various 911 and 914 models since 1979
35 years  Ive owned my 911 GT5 car since 1990, and the 914 GT3 car since 1998 Have ballled up a few cars, and rendered others unusable after track outings ;) I've also done the opposite of the Johnny Cash song, I've disassembled and disposed of a now $$$ early long hood 911S by cutting it up with a sawzall, and over a period of weeks tossing it into the work dumpster... |
I bought the Speedster in September 1973 and the couple in October 1973 - 41 years each.
