I'm serious. It's reckless behavior. I've walked a bike down a hill knowing the consequences of riding it down could be disastrous.
I hope the pair going up, had a sensible means of transportation at the top to descend safely. |
bicyclist..........equals brainless most the time......Hope the deer learns to stay away from them.
(It has a excuse) |
Last Tuesday, rush hour, busy residential area. I am sitting first at a traffic light, next to me is a cyclist stopped, patiently waiting for the light. When the light turns green, another cyclist headed the same direction as us, blasts through the intersection at about 25mph. He timed the light perfectly, but it could have been very ugly if either I, or his fellow cyclist, had done anything different. He barely squeezed between us
Suicidal. |
^That is really an apples and oranges comparison^ Blowing through an intersection like that, even with a green light if it just changed, is dangerous. Coasting down a lightly traveled road with no traffic entering from your side of the road at all, clear, daytime, when you are less likely to see a deer/skunk/raccoon/possum/armadillo crossing the road is really pretty safe. Going down is part of the reward for going up the hill. Do you honestly believe anyone would ride to the top of going to the sun road, and walk their bike down, really?

Yes, you are every bit as ridiculous as what I said in green. |
Riding up a hill is the "cover charge" for the damn fine fun of riding down the other side.
Nobody walks a bike down a hill. And leaving a shuttle vehicle on top? Wow. |
Gravity.
Not just a good idea, IT'S THE LAW! |
I once crashed into a parked car while pedaling up hill!
