Chevy Bolt

Not misspelled. This is the all electric version of the Volt.

GM Readies Electric Rival to Tesla - WSJ

Quote:
By placing the Bolt in the high-volume Chevrolet line and giving it a name similar to the Volt, executives hope to polish Chevy’s image as a full-line vehicle manufacturer prepared to meet demand, regardless of prices at the pump, according to people familiar with the strategy. GM expects the Bolt to compete globally, including in markets such as China. It is unclear if a car similar to the Bolt would be inserted in the Opel, Cadillac or Buick brands down the road.
This reads like an Onion article!

Bolt - Snort!

I'm a huge fan of all cars and may even consider getting an electric next time I'm buying... however, Bolt=massive fail.

Why? Bolt means to run fast to escape. I can't say I'm running fast, but I sure would like to escape the limits of gas powered commutermobiles.

Why not call it the "Lightning" or something cool. Bolt sounds like, well, a dull metal object.

Even "the Coulomb" would be much better...

Honestly, first thing that comes to mind is "nuts and bolts" followed by the cartoon dog.

I think the "bolt" part is fine, but could they drop the "Chevy" all together? That would certainly help sales.
