As to the dating question that person would have to state their reason for only from a particular race. If the reason is a racist there is your answer.

Nope, I don't consider myself racists at all, I just never had the desire to date non-white women, and would probably gotten my butt kicked if I came home with a black girl......rightfully so 30 years ago, I would have been a pariah. These days the lines have blurred and the tolerance is much higher for cross racial couples.

If I found myself all of a sudden single, ....no, I would not consider dating a black woman. Sorry, that's just the way I feel., like it or not.

BTW i am also a patriots fan but for a completely different reason.

They are one of the very, very few teams that still have class. They believe the team is more important than the individual and they do not allow team members to dance around and celebrate like 3 year olds for doing their freaking jobs.

I barely watch any pro football any more because the celebrations are... in my opinion... cheap and demeaning. Likewise with the taunting... I'm glad they're throwing flags for that... wish they would do it for the monkeyshines, too.

Just happened to catch this... includes some guys celebrating so hard they injured themselves... and, at 2:40, a couple of Raiders (winless at the time) celebrating a defensive play so hard they couldn't get back to the line in time for the next play.

Sorry, but the Belicheck (who is a great coach) Pats will forever be tainted by the videotaping of opposing teams practices--and they did re-sign Lagarret Blount this season even after his arrest.

I route for anyone playing against the Cheatriots!

Liking a team because they are mostly white is like voting for a candidate only because he is black.

Yup, racist on both counts.

I will root against a POS. Jameis Winston - I hope he fails miserably in the NFL. Conversely I will root for a good dude. Marcus Mariota is by all accounts a good guy, I hope he does well on Sundays.

speeder 01-12-2015 08:56 PM

Just go out on the street and ask a bunch of random black people whether they think it's racist.

Can't do that? It's racist, then. Basically, if you need to discuss it only with a bunch of other anonymous crackers on an Internet forum, it's definitley racist. :)

Yep, he will end up in Oakland, where the other "Bad Citizen" football players go.

You guys that brand others a racist for their personal preference need your very own bracelet or ribbon or secret handshake so you can identify each other in a crowd and be glib together.

speeder 01-13-2015 07:13 AM

Good people who are not racists or bigots can find each other with no problem in the world. It's the closet racists, (hint, hint), who need a special bracelet or handshake.

Why not ask a bunch of random white people too? Are one population's opinion more meaningful or insightful than another's?

Yes and no.

But if you wanted to know if a particular joke was offensive to Polack's would you ask a bunch of WOP's?

My point exactly.

Everyone has opinions and predispositions based on experience.
They are a natural way of self-identifying and understanding the complex environment around all of us.
When they work against all reality it first does harm to that individual by limiting potential.

pavulon 01-13-2015 08:43 AM

Any time a conversation or decision hinges upon race (or some other differentiation), their should be some pause to consider what is happening.

There are only two things I can't stand in this world.
People who are intolerant of other people's cultures.
And the Dutch.
