So, they're light bulbs .... and they ... make light... and light up a room when it's dark so's you can see.

Cool.
They had those before I was born.
And up until a few years ago they cost about $1 each.
And they came with all different light ratings in watts, and you could get them in different hues like soft white (my favorite).
They even came in different colors.
But everyone still bought the white ones.

And they turned on and off with a switch. Or a clapper.

Things were different back in the good ole days.

I'm probably dating myself.

I saw the title and thought about lighting in Hue, Vietnam.

They can do everything you need below. I have all of my major bulbs on the Hue. I have them set to come on when I get home, the bedroom turns on at dusk, they all turn off when I leave home, I have the bedroom set to come on gradually on work days, kinda like an alarm. There are also tons of apps that will let you do party strobes that beat to the music but that's not really my thing. I love mine.

For the evening, I would like lower brightness and a warm temperature. Sometimes I will want the sink lights to be bright and the table lights dim, sometimes I will want it the other way around, and these changes would be ad hoc, not on a schedule.

Can the Hue bulbs do that?. What other equipment well I need?. How easy is it to program the schedule, or to make changes ad hoc?

In addition, you can set up themes. Here are 2 that I use. One is Deep Sea and the other is Sunset. Note the lighting behind the TV. That is the hue light strip (flexible LED strip)

I updated my Hue lighting software, more better. Try "onSwitch" from the app store, free.

50,000 shades of white! Holy moly!

I like how they use the term 'bridge' in the video. You know some young hipster in marketing came up with it now its going to be a 'thing'.
