Interesting. I tried all sorts of fountain pens about 15-20 years ago and gave up due to the lefty curse.

Maybe the ink formulations have been changed?

You should be able to order a pen with a left-handed Nib.

I think lefties need lots of experimentation on finding the right nib/ink combination. Especially if you stay with fine or extra fine nibs and a relatively dry ink you should be pretty good on all but the least porous papers.

Of course, I'm a righty so that's all easy for me to say...

don't buy BIC disposable. I have one sitting on my desk right now. The ink doesn't float out very well. It almost feels dry. Nothing like the real deal.

One man's opinion. I've been using these Varsity's for the last 5 years. Ink flows just fine.

I've got a very small collection - nothing exotic. My daily driver is a Rotring. I picked it up at Levenger.com some years ago.

Just ordered a Pilot Metropolitan to play with.

Don't know if that Pelikan is vintage, but I'd guess the nib is gold. A beauty.

Well, to be perfectly honest, I write so infrequently now that it's no longer worth the effort to search.

Hell, I don't even sign checks anymore. I have "people" for that.
