The rest of the field pretty much uses a Ferrari or Mercedes engine or the Renault POS engine.

Unlimited engine testing would only hurt Mercedes and help ever other team. Ferrari has unlimited budget, I am sure McLaren-Honda have deep pockets.
Right and this is the playground for the big name companies. (engine builders) Let them play. They wont stay around to be embarrassed.

Does anyone really care that Osella, Toleman, Copursucar, Shadow, AHS, Ligier, Hesketh (dare I say Brabham?) and on and on aren't around? There will be smaller teams in F1. Let the big boys play. If it's parity you want, make it parity for the big dogs, and let the little dogs try and figure out how to become big dogs.

This whole idea of tokens for engine credits makes me want to barf....

I'm not going to watch another race in a season where unless there is some anomaly there will only realistically be one or two drivers with a chance to win.

(And while I'm blitching, I want someone to finally step up and say 'we want bigger wheels, with a taller, wider wheel/tire in back, if for no other reason, they look better.)

Gentlemen. The show is over at WEC. There, our marque Porsche is quite strong amongst other contenders, Audi, Toyota, et. al. Other classes race cars that actually look like street cars which is a bonus imho. And the races are endurance races, something Porsche takes quite seriously.

If you want close competition, F1 is not it. Still don't understand why people watch F1. It's akin to battered housewife syndrome I guess...

Or Aussie V8 Supercars. Now, that's the bomb!

So mercedes turned it down to 9 so they wouldn't get punished for being too good. Barely loose baaa-rain, barely win the next two, barely looose the next one after that, and so on.
They'll be just fast enough for the rest of the year to stay on the podium and win the championship(s).
My right brain wants to agree, but the left brain doesn't.

Add some manufactured drama between Hamilton and Rosberg and you get the WWE.

I just think this year's car is more suited to Hamilton than Rossberg. Look at Weber/Vettel. The first year of Red Bull dominance, they could drive the car equally well, but over the next seasons it developed more and more to suit Vettel's style. Rossberg is struggling with a car that doesn't suit him and his apparent role as #2.

Hamilton is wise to keep contract negotiations open as long as possible, because it motivates the team to please him.

The back and forth battle between Audi and Porsche at Silverstone was awesome to watch! I can't wait for Spa!

Hammy's taking some heat on social media for these pics. If you didn't think he was a dick before these, you may now...

In fairness we can dig up pictures of most winners spraying the podium girls. And the pictures make it look like he was at it for a long time but it might be one second from 3 angles... The media doesn't know what to do anymore to create a tempest in a teacup (and I'm not a fan of his - by a long shot - gold chain rapper, not my guy).
